Whilst Microsoft may now own their Mobile Division now as Microsoft Lumia, that hasn’t stopped what’s left at Nokia from still showing everyone what they have, and this is their first step in to doing that, the N1 Android Tablet.
At their October Event, Apple took the wraps of a ton of updates coming for their Mac and iOS platforms, including the release of Yosemite, as well as the launch of some incredible new iPads, a Retina Display iMac, Mac Mini and more. Google quietly have took the wraps of a collection of new devices, alongside the final unveiling of Android 5.0, which we finally know will be known as Lollipop. Three of the first devices announced to be running Lollipop will all be Nexus devices, the Nexus 6 by Motorola, the Nexus 9 tablet by HTC, as well as the first Android TV device by ASUS simply called the Nexus Player. At a Windows Event, Microsoft gave a little taste to what’s coming in the world of Windows moving forward, and that of course is the next version of Windows, Windows 10. Something important to mention is, this is a Enterprise focused event and preview, but for the end user, there’s a ton of new features, all of which you can find in this post.
At the September 2014 Event, Apple announced two new iPhone 6 devices, one packing a 4.7 inch, the other packing a 5.5 inch, display. Apple also announced their take on the Smart Watch, with the Apple Watch. All these announcements and more covered in our run through right here!

After checking out the flagship Windows Phone 8.1 device from Nokia, well, it’d be rude to not check out their mid-range offering too, and that’s just what we’ve done with our Nokia Lumia 630/635 review.
Here it is, the all new HTC One W8 … nope, that would just make sense, and the guys at HTC don’t do names that make sense, this is the HTC One M8 with Windows. More or less a mirror of the One M8 running Android we all know and love, but running Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 out of the box. Nokia finally released their Windows Phone 8.1 flagship, the Lumia 930, and now we’ve got it in our hands ready for our review. But, is the Lumia 930 a good enough progression from the 920, and can it keep up with the current Smartphone climate, find out in our review!
As part of new strategies to keep their platforms up to date through a more regular period of time, Microsoft have already released a new update for Windows Phone 8.1, simply named ‘Windows Phone 8.1 Update’. Whilst the update is small, it does deliver some very useful features to Windows Phone, which you can check out in our overview here!
At this years Google I/O, Google went all out on software, from the enhancements in Android with Android L to updates to the Chrome OS. Google also focused on bringing Android to all your devices, whether that be Smartphones, Tablets, Watches, Car and more thanks to Android Wear and Auto respectively. At this years WWDC, Apple premiered three major steps forward for the company, including the latest version of their Mac OS X operating system codenamed Yosemite, which brings OS X and iOS closer than ever before. Apple also previewed iOS 8, the next step forward in Apple’s mobile strategy, bringing iOS to a wider and more expansive audience, with developer features never thought possible before for the platform. Apple finally debuted the biggest shake up in their mobile services by debuting a whole new Programming Language, Swift with a ton of new APIs making the future of iOS games look more promising than ever before!
This years Computex 2014 trade show was bigger than ever, with announcements from the wide range of PC OEMs showing off the latest innovations they have to offer, which includes everything from incredible all-in-ones, tablets, laptops, and even devices that can do everyone of those in one! Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 3, the first tablet that can truly replace the laptop. Increasing the screen size to 12″, adding a multi-friction kickstand and vastly improved keyboard, is just the start of what the Surface Pro 3 has to offer.
Coldplay are back with this, their sixth album. Whilst the album is just 9 tracks, and whilst it may not be what Coldplay purists will be hoping for, Ghost Stories does what it intends to. Whilst we weren’t too impressed with the album, you can check out our review to see why, the album does offer glimmers of hope that remind you this is a Coldplay album.
