After many months of deliberating, we’re finally able to share what the next version of Google’s Android operating system will be called. The release following Oreo was simply known as Android P, then during and after I/O, it was still known as Android P, but now we can finally add a couple more letters to that P to give you Android Pie!
That’s right, version 9 of Android will be known as Android Pie … we’re not too keen of it either, though interestingly considering Android Kitkat was nearly called Key Lime Pie, you could say it’s far from the first time Android has had Pie involved in its naming scheme.
Of course Pie will be available today shortly for Pixel devices, though as far as other devices are concerned, we’ll just have to see, as always with Android.
