It’s been a while since HTC made a major impact on the Smartphone game, however the company is hoping to change that with the release of the new U12+.
Like previous U series devices, expect a fingerprint magnet back, glossy obscene colour choices, however all in a rather appealing package.
HTC are also going big on the Camera with the U12+, which is a good thing as they’ve hardly had a solid history in the past. The new 12MP and 16MP dual-Camera array is no slouch, however, knocking off the recent champ, Huawei P20, from the top spot of DXO Mark … for those who think that matters.
Performance shouldn’t be an issue, with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, backed up by 6GB of high speed RAM, to keep Android Oreo running smooth. Add that to the fact that HTC have a fairly lite skin on top of Android, you should expect some great performance.
Battery life shouldn’t be an issue either with a very sizable 3,500mAh battery with QuickCharge support, however no mention of Wireless Charging in the press release. (We’ll update accordingly if we find out otherwise)
The HTC U12+ goes on sale May 23rd, and we like what we see.
