Microsoft’s Surface Team can easily be held responsible for inspiring the best trends in the world of Windows machines right now, and this is just another example of that in the Dell Latitude 5285.
In typical Dell style, you’ll find all the latest under-pinning, Intel’s latest Kaby Lake Processors, up to 16GB of RAM, as well as up to 1TB storage options in SSD.
Whilst a 1080p display almost seems low spec at this point, at 12.3 inch it’s still likely to be very bearable. The display of which also supports a more rounded 3:2 aspect ratio, like Microsoft’s Surface line.
The Latitude 5285 shares more with the Surface Pro 3 however, such as back mounted Kickstand to keep it vertical, and that Keyboard you can see is detachable.
But of course you’ll find more Ports on the Latitude, rather than just the single Ports, you’ll find 2 USB-C ports, a single USB 3.0 ports (traditional USB-A housing) and a microSD card reader.
Optional extras include support for optional FIPS 201 Smartcard reader, Fingerprint scanner and contactless SC Reader / NFC.
Dell also throw in a microSIM slot as standard, so you can take this literally anywhere you want with a Data Plan from a Carrier of your choice.
So, overall, a pretty solid Windows 10 2 in 1, the Latitude 5285 is set to go on sale on February 28 for $899.
