The Google Pixel is a fantastic Android phone, featuring the cleanest build of Android yet, running on Android 7.1 Nougat and doing it better than ever. However, one feature of the Pixel advertised by Google was the Weather widget built in to the top right, which for many isn’t showing up and instead showing the date. Well, here’s how to show the Weather instead.
By enabling the Weather on the Pixel, not only will you see live weather updates as you would from a typical Weather widget, it allows you to tap on the Widget to get detailed Weather information from Google, rather than being a, not very useful, date Widget.
Swipe in to Google Now
Tap the top left Hamburger menu and select ‘Customise’
Scroll down to ‘Everything else’
Look for the option “Interested in weather updates for your location” and select ‘Yes’.
All options currently selected as ‘No’ will be further at the bottom, which ‘Yes’ options at the top.
Refresh Google Now by going back to the Search and dragging down
You should now have the local Weather showing on your Pixel, rather than the date essentially twice.
Hopefully this helps, we’ve noticed a collection of people having this problem, or really confusion in getting this to work out of the box and we’re happy to help.
We’ve a full review, and first impressions, of the Google Pixel coming up very shortly, so keep tuned for that, spoilers it’s really great Android phone.
