If rumours are to be believed, perish the thought, Apple could be on the verge of releasing an iPhone remeniscent to Samsung’s Edge series of Smartphones, with full wrap around displays.
The patent highlights a potential 5.8 inch iPhone display with an odd, but workable resolution of 1920 x 1310, the likely 230 extra pixels would be shared to both corners of the Smartphone creating the curved effect Samsung have made famous, with 115 naturally at each corner.
The continued use of 1080p style resolution is rather disconcerting however, as we were really expecting Apple to at least adopt 2K resolution for their Plus devices, however if these are to be believed that may not be the case. Of course, Apple may still adopt 2K resolution for their iPhone 7 Plus, and this Edge variety be an exception to that rule, but in a market where Samsung in particular is really impressing in terms of display, this could be a weak move by Apple if it came true.
Would you like an Edge display iPhone, have you being eying the Galaxy S and Note Edge devices?
