Apple Updates 20th July 2011 – OSX Lion, MacBook Airs replace MacBooks and more!

Ah Apple, love em or hate them you can’t ignore them, and today Apple made a team of updates all at once. Mac OS X Lionfinally got released for the bargain price of £20.99, Apple unleashed new MacBook Airs and Mac Mini updates, stopped selling the white MacBook, released a new 64-bit capable version of iTunes for Lion, and released new Cinema Display. Toadd to that Apple have record revenue, Apple is one tasty fruit to bite off at the moment.

OSX Lion

I’m writing this blog using Mac OSX Lion, so that says something I suppose, the OS is very smooth for a release version, don’t get me wrong, Apple have prepared very highly for this release, its got its own version of Safari andiTunes, a heap of iLife updates were released recently that amongst other things fixed bugs on Lion, all supporting the full screen mode of course, so Lion is a solid update right?

Well, you could say that, I mean, I have no real problems so far. I got a notification saying that Camouflage wasn’t compatible with Lion, which is odd because it still works after clicking out that warning. The OS itself does feel very smooth, been playing around with a few of the visible updates and yes, there isn’t many, but its twenty quid for godsake. But both my Macs have been performing better since the update, so what can I say eh!

It may seem unrelated but Adobe Flash performs far better on my lower spec MacBook than it did in Snow Leopard and that could be due to new frameworks and codecs in Lion which Adobe blamed for Adobe Flash “issues”.

But this isn’t a review, just a first impression, and my first impressions are, go for it, its smooth, no problems to note, although scrolling might be a shock at first, but if you’re old fashioned you can toggle it back to normal in System Preferences.

MacBook Air

Apple today also announced an update to the MacBook Air line, and quite a solid update it is too, now starting at $999 (£849) just like the white MacBook, which … hang on a minute, where’s it gone? Yep, the MacBook Air now replaces the white MacBook, but hey, its still a pretty fast machine, minus the Firewire and SuperDrive. The 13 inch model of the MacBook Air now standard with 4GB of memory!

Here’s what they’ve got to offer you.

As you know Apple offer two MacBook Air models in two screen sizes of 11 and 13 inch, here’s what they’ve got to offer you;

Apple MacBook Air 11 inch comes with a FaceTime HD Camera, Thunderbold I/O with support for dual display and video mirroring with video out to 2560×1600. Includes 2 USB Ports, 1 ThunderBolt Port, Magsafe and Audio In/Out port.

Base Model = 1.6GHz (dual-core) Intel Core i5. 2GB RAM, 64GB Flash memory, Intel HD Graphics with 256MB shared

Upgrade Options = 1.8GHz (dual-core) Intel Core i7. 256GB Flash memory.

13 inch Model;

Apple MacBook Air 13 inch comes with a FaceTime HD Camera, Thunderbold I/O with support for dual display and video mirroring with video out to 2560×1600. Includes 2 USB Ports, 1 ThunderBolt Port, Magsafe and Audio In/Out port as well as an SD Card slot.

Mac Mini

The new Mac Mini update makes the mini desktop tower as it were twice as powerful with the new Sandi Bridge processors and features the all new ThunderBold I/O. The Mac Mini Server also ships with Mac OS X Lion Server. TheMac Mini also features an array of I/O including a Power Port, Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire 800, HDMI, ThunderBolt, 4 USB, SD Card Slot, Audio in and out ports.

The Mac Mini comes in three stock models, the base model, a second higher end model and a server configuration. Here’s what each option has to offer.

Base Model = 2.3GHz (dual-core) Intel Core i5. 2GB RAM, 500GB 5200rpm HDD, Intel HD Graphics with 288MB shared

Top Model = 2.5Ghz (dual-core) Intel Core i5. 4GB RAM, 500GB 5200rpm HDD, ATI Radeon HD 6630M with 256MB graphics

Upgrade Options = 2.7GHz (dual-core) Intel Core i7. 8GB RAM, 750GB 7200rpm HDD

iTunes

Apple also released a new version of iTunes software for Mac OS X Lion. The update is the first time iTunes has not only been a native cocoa application framework for Mac OSX, something Apple have been touting everyone to adopt since Mac OSX introduction over 10 years ago, but it is finally in 64-bit!

And based on what we’ve seen it actually seems to run quite well too.

You can download iTunes 10.4 as a beta for Snow Leopard and Windows here!

So quite a heap of updates from Apple then. Phew, we finally got through them. Won’t be long till iCloud is upon us and the eventual release of iOS5 and whats happened to the iPhone 5, only time will tell eh!?

Blog Friday 6th May 2011 – Easter Hols, Emotional Breakdown and more!

Its all been a bit much recently if I’m been honest with ya. Well, we left off before the holidays which in many ways ya know were a bit too much to take, I’ll probably get to the reasons why pretty soon, but first I need to put some new batteries in my Magic Mouse, give us a minute … there we go, took about 20 odd seconds to do, some Duracell if you’re bothered! Hang on, that has to be the first live battery changing of a Bluetooth mouse to feature in a personal blog ever!!! … Nah, its Apple someone else’ll of done it, but hey, first for me!

Back at College

This week started pretty good as missing Monday for a bank holiday meant I only had two College days which was shweet! Tuesday was pretty alright to be honest, Josh wasn’t here apparently ill, which was annoying as I specially remembered my harmonica for him, ugh well. But to be honest I’d missed alot about College and realised why I kinda go, the people. Mentioned before how I feel about the course I’m on, we won’t go there again, case there watching evilly whilst wearing ski masks!

Thursday was a very interesting day at College though, Josh was here and immediately started coming up with a cunning plan to make the tutors get mixed up between and Sam with a hat. … OK theres two Sams at College, one wears a hat alright. And the hat was the same one, so it made it more convincing right? …. …. No. But it was fun watching them trying really hard to convince. Dinner time was when things got very interesting, for some reason Aaron never came out at College, so went down with Josh, Sam, Sam with a hat and some others. Bought some randomness from Lidl, well they did anyway, then hung around and had some laughs. Headed of in to town by myself after whilst I’d time to get some nice Sausage Rolls from the Greggs, whilst in town though who’d I bump in to than Aaron and a guy they were all looking for to called Danny, I know. Anyway, had a few laughs with those guys then walked up and we all met up at Lidl car park. Then it got very strange, Josh is very err… different the way he transports himself around and it didn’t pay of this time at all. Instead of going up some metal steps he decided to take an interesting climbing route, however this led to him actually bashing his head incredibly hard on a metal pole. Didn’t know whether to laugh or go Oooo, but when I saw blood, alot of it, I sort of started being sympathetic, I already crinched whilst it happened, oo makes me shiver thinking of that bang noise. Anyway, he ended up going with Sam with a hat to A&E at hospital, so that was an interesting morning then wasn’t it!

Afternoons on Thursday are quick anyway, and after nearly 2 hours the day was over, but hey, despite some Casualties along the way, OK one, had a very fun week to be honest! Fun but painful, more can you ask for … well Josh probably might ask for not having a bad headache right now!

Easter Hols

Minus the breakdown I had (see next section to get depressed) the holiday was a bit of a dim one. Not much happened during the holiday, but here are some of the highlights.

-We started filming for our upcoming Hutton thingy that keeps changing its name, me and Grandad Lee did acting, yes Lee did acting! OK, we only filmed about 5 minutes, but its not that bad of 5 minutes, and we’ve decided that the theme tune is going to be “Chill Anthem” taken from the Debenhams single, click that title text to get the single for yourself. The filming I’m not going to go in to, obviously we want to wait until its actually reached completion which knowing us could be years or never, but we’ll see eh. As usual with when I put news of possible film productions, they sound promising, then never happen, we’ll see if this one is different won’t we. My album following the Debenhams single, that will happen, probably late 2011 – early 2012 though, working some songs I’ve been writing through the years takes a while and I want it to be good.

-Rob’s Birthday occured in the holidays as well, which if I’m been perfectly honest with ya, as soon as I found out that it did I wasn’t happy, not that it was Robs birthday, but the fact that it took place in the holidays when I was just recovering from (see next section) and I kinda wanted to relax to be honest, it was the last week of the hols on a Thursday, I just wanted to sit at home and relax, but hey, went out with low expectations of the night if I’m been honest with ya. The birthday had a similar format as my 18th, but annoyingly no one decided to torture Rob like they did me on my 18th, bastards. But yeah, alot of people turned up, few faces I didn’t know, few faces I didn’t want to know and saw Kai and Jess who I haven’t seen in a while, and a while again as I’ve not seem them since that day … I lie, I saw Kai a week back, but hey. The night was actually quite a laugh to be honest, I always have a laugh with Jess, Grandad and Caddy (for the time he was there) were actually a laugh, never really spoke to Rob much which you never really do on birthdays but ya know, not a bad night. I was one of the few that ended the night earlier than the others who went of to Bradford to the Casinos, but I didn’t feel like it, or had enough to do so, so didn’t which I don’t regret at all to be honest. But yeah good night, needed that to be honest. I also ignored Rob’s relationship advise for reasons I won’t be harsh to mention, Jess mentioned the women from next section as well, but just said I didn’t want to talk about it and the subject was changed and we had a few laughs. But yeah as I said not bad night.

-House was free at Caddys again and me, Caddy obvously, Grandad and Kai, eventually Rob had a few laughs, all I’ve got to say about that to be honest. Found out Microsoft Kinect doesn’t acknowledge my existence, typical Microsoft eh. But yeah, had a few laughs, played Debenhams single on the Jukebox, pretty good night.

Emotional Breakdown

I kinda want to rush this section to keep myself in a good mood, and the pitch of this blog in a happy sorter reading way. … yeah! Anyway, the holiday was very uneventful to be honest, nothing really happened as in going out events weren’t interesting, OK they were a few, but for a holiday the “few” part was too big sadly, but hey. I was more annoyed that not enough stuff was going on because I could have done with many distractions over the holidays as I was pretty much doing what I’m good at, being crap with women. I am what I shall define as a “Sweet Ugly Bastard” when it comes to women, I’ll explain. I’m one of those guys thats nice to women, unless their chavs can get on with them … although if their chavs I sort of don’t get on with them in the way I avoid them at all costs. Anyway, what I mean by that is I’m nice and get on with most women, but when it comes to getting involved in something like a relationship is where I fail, and whats even more annoying about that is many women have told me that I’m a good flirter (I’m not in anyway) but not someone who’d they’d want to go out with, gee thanks! Basically what they are saying is you’d be a good boyfriend, but …. its you! Thanks a chuffin lot you bitches! Anyway, seen as I’ve been sort of noticed mentioning people with names before I am going to do everything in alias terms this time. Well, the holiday started with the women I’ve become SO CLOSE to finally getting what I’ve been dreaming about and wanting for over 5 years … her in a relationship being dashed again, but more worse with someone who is a twat I’ve known for about 10 years, I know, fun right. Whats even more annoying is that he claimed that he always fancied her and stuff when they used to hang out, all I’m saying right now is, back in those days he’s on about, when the women lived near where I do (which is also near where he lives) he never paid her a percentage of attention, if anything avoided her! Anyway, suppose I will always be this failure with all this love to burst out that will have to STAY concealed. Huh. The stupid thing about it even more was that she actually continued to flirt with me to and fro, was constantly having arguments with the one she was “supposed” to be going out with, then said she loved me more, and to be honest it all just annoyed me so much I just went in to a bit of a meltdown to be honest. Suppose the advantage of adding statuses and talking via text is you can pretend to be in a good mood through sites like FaceBook, but trust me, throughout the holiday I was concealing so much hate and depression. The problem is it wasn’t just from her, it was from consistent repeats of this same situation with one lass, then another, then another, and to be honest the main reason why I haven’t had a girlfriend in so much time … well apart from set point, what I should of said is why I’ve not been trying to get a girlfriend is basically because every single relationship I’ve hads been a failure and has actually made me quite scared of women. Seriously, there the one thing I love more than anything in the world but at the same time I don’t fear anything else more, and to be frank, I can’t take anymore heartbreak. What this time proved is that all the heartbreak, depression and sadness from previous relationships is struggling to stay concealed, you could say the bubble is truly about to pop any time soon.

She eventually saw through him and they broke up a week and a bit afterwards, reasons were not mentioned, but I oddly wasn’t in anyway chuffed about it or anything, why, because I knew that she wouldn’t turn to me. I wasn’t the reason she broke up, or if I was it didn’t show. She’s now going out with someone else, although this person, despite not knowing them, I know that they’ve known each other alot longer, or atleast are a lot closer and that both sides actually love each other which is ‘oh so freaking sweet’ isn’t it! I’m sorry, I really tried to carry that sentence to the reality, but come on, takes the piss. For the millionth time of trying to go out with her, failing, falling out, getting back again, we’re back to been friends. Oh joy.

I know what you’re thinking, you’re probably thinking stuff like Ben move on, well the fact of the matter is I actually love her, if you don’t know what that means then you’ve never loved someone before. Theres a massive difference with “Liking” someone to “Loving” someone. That always seems to get very mixed up with many people. Everyone I’ve said ‘I love you’ to in that order I genuinely have done, in fact I broke up with a lass … ooo its a few year back now, but we broke up because I couldn’t tell her I loved her, we were going out all fun and happy errr… thingy, but did I love her, no. There’s about …. wow, about, I know the freaking number, there’s two people in my life I’ve, well still do love. Both of which have bothered me, or made me happy or whatever else to make it into my blogs, but I will never stop loving them. Would I say I love the latest one more, absolutely, why, because we’re close friends, see her in person quite a bit, know where she lives! Its hard dude.

Took me a very long time to pack all that pain that we’ll probably never be in a relationship in to that ever f***ing growing bubble of emotional pain, and seriously I want to thank many people who’ve helped me get my happy up, oddly that comes from the people at College, seriously though thanks guys, even though I know you don’t read this blog, but seriously helped me through it and respect you alot for that, good friends man, especially Josh, which is actually his name, only women get alias’ in this blog.

Back to the present, and near the end of the holidays I saw her in person and we had a massive hug, didn’t say much but we’ve had chats and seriously she’s too much of a valuable friend to me to let this take me over, which is probably another thing thats helped me through it, I’m always here for her no matter what, I’ll always love her more than anyone else, and she knows that now and we’ve both ya know, dealt with it in quite an adult manor … I know, don’t get much of that do you! All in all though I do love her and always will.

Other things happening!

I know what you’re thinking ya thinking Ben I haven’t seen this before, well because its new and its a simple way to go over things quickly when my hand is tired typing.

Royal Wedding: Couldn’t care less, nothing I hate more than two peoples lives going so well.

Osama Bin Laden dead: Is he really, because proof is very limited and US stories keep changing, apparently the other side have confirmed it, but still seems fishy to me! If he is then, well, good. Only Beiber and Miss Black to go now, oh the lolz.

New iMac Update: These things are awesome, you can go up to 3.4GHz Core i7 (newest versions), AMD graphics up to 2GB, Ram up to 16GB, 2 Thunderbolt ports, 2TB+256GB SSD, and more, come on! Awesome

Little Dragon: Thought I’d mention that I’ve been loving Little Dragon recently, purchased both their albums thanks to featuring on Plastic Beach by Gorillaz and some of the songs are amazing, love em!

Vangelis Gift: My Dad had a Vangelis best of album CD when I was younger which I sort of stuck under my bed and snapped, but I found it and downloaded it and remembered how much I actually loved it. And actually now I’m more grown up I love it even more. ‘So Long Ago, So Clear’, that song makes me cry sometimes, OK it did when I was depressed with love problems, but seriously an awesome song.

Well thats ya lot to be honest, if you’re in a good mood you’ve obviously skipped that massive paragraph, had to get it out there to be honest. Anyway, till next time!

Blog Sunday 27th February 2011 – Hols, OSX Lion, Ghosts and more!

Well its been another one of those weeks off you get now and then, and like normal I’ve taken full advantage of the time off … yyeaahhhh! Alright, lets get on with it.

Last week of College

The week before the holidays was full of weirdness, but hey, have no fear, it was only Irish weirdness, I know, thats fine then! Aaron decided to cancel his birthday party because no one knows where it is, which in all fairness and area description of ‘In the UK’ isn’t really sufficient to finding somewhere, just saying!

Josh and crew all went a bit Irish this week, which added some amusement to the proceedings, especially when Sam discovered the Irishness of Mickey Mouse, yes I said Mickey Mouse, but hey, what do you expect. Anyway, last day till the week off being Thursday had quite a rushed feel to it, everyone was more focused on leaving and starting the hols rather than completing mock tests which we’ll all forget by the time we reach the start of the next half term, anyway, we all ended up finishing early which was swell. Bit more of Irishness on the way home, and the hols began.

The Hols

Well we’re getting to the end of the holiday, well, lets face it, its the end, and well, what did I do to make the holidays all that worth while, well, nothing. In fact, everyday been pretty much the same, almost too the same, literally everyday of the week, we’re talking Monday night, Tuesday night – Friday night, have all ended exactly the same way, same pub, same chips, I know, what the hell!

It kinda annoys me when this happens as it kinda makes holidays a bit worthless, but hey, suppose had a laugh now and then, and hey, back to been Irish next week. Although based on how much Craig Ferguson I’ve been watching, I’m more turning Scottish like, but hey!

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

For legal reasons I can’t tell you much about it, but I’m actually writing this blog on Mac OS X Lion Developer Preview, all I’m gonna say is Wow, love it. The OS feels snappy, Safari has all iPad features like pinch and zoom as well as the Google Chrome sandbag feature within each tab which is nice, it also using the new WebKit2 which means its snappier, quicker and all in all awesome!

There’s also some appearance changes which trust me, that has been long overdue in OSX. The OS is even more secure, and even though its a developer preview where bugs are expected, everything feels very smooth, even on a 2008 Aluminium MacBook, Lion is quick. Obviously I can’t go to in to it, but hey, just pop on YouTube and you’ll find some videos, well, ones Apple haven’t deleted. All I can say is, I can’t wait for Lion, its the most stable and fast release of OSX I’ve seen and its only in beta. The only problem I have is the learning curve you have with the scrolling been the other way round, waat!

Ghosts are back

Ghosts are a UK band that in 2007 released ‘The World Is Outside’ album, loved this band, but they’ve never had the attention they deserve, well, despite fear that they were no more, and Wikipedia still stating them as a “were”, they’ve released two new songs, which exclusive to RKUK Media can be downloaded, so check it out, click the corresponding links to download Say You’re Mine or Never Too Late. Also downloaded some live performances of The Good The Bad And The Queen and got the entire The Feeling collection, who are releasing a new album soon, so yeah, this years starting to look up for music now.

Who knows I maybe allowed to mention more about OSX Lion in a future blog, until then, well, more Craig Ferguson, some Top Gear catch up, and err… well back to normality tomorrow.

Apple MacBook Pro Update = Sandy Bridge, Thunderbolt and more!

Today Apple shocked the crowd … OK they didn’t we saw it coming, but anyway, Apple has updated its MacBook Pro line and from afar you probably can’t tell that they’ve changed it, even though the ports have changed, next to the previous gen still look the same, more on that in a minute.

Contrary to rumour-mill belief, the design of the MacBook Pro has stayed the same, its basically a spec bump, and quite a nice one to say its Apple.

ThunderBolt / Light Peak

There is something quite new and never seen before on the new MacBook Pro line, which is sure going to make it to the iMac and beyond soon no doubt, and thats Light Peak, or as Apple are calling it, ThunderBolt. Now don’t worry, this is not some crazy Pokemon move, no Pikachu is going to come out and attack you, this is the name of a whole new port that set to become an industry standard. The port is … well, literally is the Mini Display Port, all your Mini Display Port display(s) (adapters) will work as usual, but now with Light Peak / ThunderBolt technology you can enjoy a very powerful alternative to USB or Firewire, and with 1GBs/s of transfer rate, compared to USB 2.0 400MBs/s, ThunderBolt is quite electrifying power from one port, pardon the pun. The technology was developed mostly by Intel which has announced that the technology will be (for now, till 2012) exclusive to Apple machines, which could be good or bad really, bad for Windows OEMs, good for Apple, but also bad for Apple as many manufacturers might not bother making hardware for a small marketshare of machines, but hey, Apple are growing in Mac sales every year, so who knows.

Here are the new base specs for the MacBook Pro line all including the new ThunderBolt / Light Peak / Mini Display Port adapters.

Blog Friday 5th and 6th November 2010 – Holidays, College, Trips Out, Data and more!

I really need to start keeping up my blogs, been nearly a month ouch! Coming up in this blog, yes we are now a TV show, week holiday, which in itself I catch up with an another old friend, Mt Desolation and ooh so much more!

So, lets get to it. Before I start I must say what I’m changing in my blogs, my blogs like this one (may) have/has two sections, one for Life and one Other, life for life, Other for tech stuff and more, so yeah!

LIFE

Holidays
Well, week holidays, woo, a million miles of activity should be going off right. Well, kinda not really. To be honest I’ve been spending most of my months adding music videos to RKUK Media, but something did happen in the holidays which put a nice smile on my face, a nice catch up with an old friend, Diza. You might remember a few months back, we’re talking May/June time here, I caught up with James Hodgson, who I hadn’t seen for ages, and to be honest haven’t seen since due to that thing that everyone seems to do, the “see you soon mate/gimmie ya number I’ll call you” scenario … no you won’t basically. But anyway, Diza is his sister, who I did not fancy to bits when I knew her in school, cough triple cough lol. Now I didn’t really obviously get to know her as much as James as I was more James’ friend back in school, but enough to know she’s pretty awesome, my type of person, random and all-in-all awesome. So, we had a bit of a catch up on the Thursday before the holidays (holiday started early, mention later), then saw her in Dews the day after, although annoyingly it was in passing in a hurry. Unfortunately since then haven’t seen her in person, we’ll have to arrange because we seem to get on so well and I just love her man. So, yeah, Diza, lovely! I would be lying if I didn’t censor some of that.

As I kinda mentioned above, I finished for the week holiday a bit earlier, that was due to something that went on that apparently will go on another 2 times this year, review week, essentially the same as review day, but in a week, although still has the same concept just the fact that they randomly just cancel all lessons in a week, I know, its really bad. So yeah, kinda finished for the holidays, dinner time on Wednesday before, so week and half holidays it became. To be honest thats all I didn’t mention since the last blog, yeah nought really happened since my last blog College wise.

The most Pointless Trip ever
This week I came back to College from the well needed holidays, if I may say so myself. But one thing that did annoy me is interrupting my schedule, Wednesday and Fridays are my days off and they always interrupt them, but this time it was just ridiculous. I spent my day off traveling to Hudd on two buses, get lost and start running for an Award Ceremony! The very small excitement that may have started for me when you read that out really should stop right now as I went and ended up getting incredibly bored and picking up an empty sheet of paper as recognition for going and I actually will have to wait for a certificate for something in a way I’d no choice but to do, and which no one failed. So yeah, starting at 10AM, arriving home about 4:30PM for lets face it no reason, great. Although I did for the probably 3rd time this month see Richard Whittaker, who claimed when he was in bullsh** mode say he lived in the US and was a millionaire, YYEEAAHH! Love finding out people are bullsh**ers, AHH-HAA!

The most AAARGHH Trip ever
And we reach the present. Today I spent going to IKEA, which I actually had a bit of a laugh with to be honest, went with Grandad Lee and Caddy, and when I was over the fact they’d woke me up it was kinda fun to be honest. We went to Birstall Retail Park, and I there failed by test, if I could not have McDs in a week by having some, although getting there Caddy did the most incredible and fantastic fall ever, although when we got to McDs he was actually bleeding all over so we kinda felt a bit harsh for laughing our eyes out but hey, I think he’s lying to say he wouldn’t of done the same to me or Lee. Then, we pondered on to IKEA, where after looking around, having 4 IKEA Hot Dogs, why I don’t know, probably because they were the best piece of plastic I’ve ever had, left with 4 Stools. Now, these are for Grandad Lees awesome bar, but carrying them home through 2 buses is quite awkward to say the least, but fun never the less. Then got home just in time for the week end reward, some nice chippies!

iPhone 4 Data Test
When I purchased my iPhone 4 (SIM FREE) I decided to continue my Vodafone SIM I got my terrible HTC Desire, terrible when I discovered how bad Android is. Anyway, I had 500MB of data usage each month for my iPhone, and well, is that enough. Well, I can say after using my iPhone 4 36 days I’ve used up 240MB, so quick answer, yes. In that time I’ve uploaded a YouTube video (on 3G), updated FaceBook/Twitter regularly, e-mail and quite abit of internet use, and of course watched a view videos. So, in a nutshell, its enough.

Well, thats it, I’ll be back to more regular blogs now, even though I said that last time this time I really will be, trust me!

Blog Saturday 25th September 2010 – iPhone Revelation, Blackpool and more!

Since my last blog quite a lot has happened to be honest, most notably rather recently which is swell, nice to see stuff going on, so where to start. As usual I’m going to start in completely random order of when the event actually happened because thats the way I roll.

iPhone 4 Next Week!

Thanks to an increase in money for reasons outside this blogpost I will be getting an iPhone 4 FINALLY next week, next week because I’m waiting for a check to clear, ugh, but hey, good things come to those who wait, except that time when I was in the queue for an Android phone a few month back, BIG MISTAKE! Now, whilst all over RKUK Media I’ve been posting blogs about which networks are best to go for, results being; BEST 12 MONTH & Overall: Tesco / BEST 18 MONTH: O2 / BEST 24 MONTH: 3 (Others don’t come close) –; Having said that, I’ve come to the conclusion that Pay Monthly is worthless for me, for the obvious reason that I don’t use Calls and Texts that much, and based on my recent Vodafone Contract scenario process I’ve really become put off by the whole contract thing.
So, what now, well Sim Only was an option, but again I had the same problem, paying £10 (Unfortunately only with T-Mobile) / £15 / £20 / £25 for minutes and texts I won’t use. All I care about is data, which unfortunately again no one offers ‘unlimited’, apart from Orange who are fooling no one in the fact that its actually 750MB per month. Anyway, when it comes to Pay As You Go, which seems to be the route I’m taking data became a bit of a problem, with Orange and Vodafone only offering 250MB per month, err no. In Pay As You Go cases it looks like I’ll be returning to O2 with them offering 500MB of data, which if we’re all perfectly honest is enough, especially when I spend over 70% of the time in a Wi-Fi area, I know that as I’ve been using an iPod Touch recently.
So thats that, next Friday I will be (Friday’s my day off by the way) traveling to any O2 Store with stock of a 32GB iPhone 4 on the 1st October! Wanted a White one, but hey, what-ya-gonna-do! I’ll of course be bloggiting on that!!!
Full information on O2 deals, whilst most is in small print, use Safari 5 and its Reader, I do, anyway, info on o2.co.uk/iphone

Blackpool Trip
This trip would of been a better trip had it occurred on a day of College and not a day off, but hey. Our £25 input to the trip resulted in a day of essential IT related things like Unlimited rides all day, buying ridiculously expensive food that tasted bad, having as much of a laugh as you can in Blackpool and all-in-all angering at British traffic when low-key accidents happen and how a massive overload occurs on the entire motorway making you even later than planned. So yeah, very IT related. I have to say though I actually liked the day to be honest and we had quite a laugh, the first hour or so for whatever reason dragged, we like went on 100 rides and only 40 minutes had past, but when time finally catched up it ended on a high note which can only be a good thing, well after the more or less pointless 30 minute presentation on the history of the place, which not to brag but everyone already knew. But yeah had quite a laugh, but to be honest, its more about the company in this sort of things. Highlights included us lot scaring one of those people trying to scare you, which was pretty funny. Others included laughing how bad a so called “scary” ride was, then going “oh sh**” when we went on one ride that we thought wasn’t ought special, then ooohhh deeeaarrr”, that was the big dipper by the way.

Drunken Duck is Surfacing!
Yes, the duck of the drunk is arriving below the residence of the one and only Grandad Lee. Basically on Tuesday as arriving home from College I witness the rise of the bar, well the surface and resting area, which became the bar, all it needs now is simple decoration oh and the obvious, the drinks, get that sorted and we’ve a new local, especially for Grandad Lee himself.

Ought Else
Not really to be honest. The big thing happening next Friday as well is the beginning of Music Month on RKUK Media, which is something to look out for!

Anyway, E-Ya Later

Blog Wednesday 21st April 2010 – 2 Week Hols, Dentist ugh and more

Yes, I do still write blogs, bloody ages since my last one, well bloggity one. Anyway, back to the story, god saying it already. Since our last outing, a 2 week holiday and err … yeah!

2 Week Hols
Just finished a two week hols, wasn’t bad but the probably main annoying thing about is the fact that well, nothing really happened. Well, we went out like ya do, but to be honest after that its kind of it. Had a few outings to the PunchBowl our new local, even though its a long walk, seriously though I’m gonna stop going if they don’t hurry up and stock back up on those Bacon Fries.
Got a new phone, the HTC Desire, probably be doing a review of it soon, probably won’t be till Saturday though, yeah I know shame! Been using it through the holidays, still getting used to the world of Android, by the way, every HTC owner knows Android is completely different on an HTC thanks to HTC Sense, so its better than a Nexus One … a lot, still getting used to been on Pay Monthly, probably gonna stick to Pay Monthly phones at this rate going rather smoothly.
Also signed up to a new bank because of the whole palaver with blooming Maestro cards not been accepted like anywhere anymore online. I’m going on Thursday for it anyway, a card with hopefully either a VISA or a MasterCard, ya know, cards people actually use.

Monday
Seen as my body decided it would be a good idea to never sleep at all, I ended up not sleeping at all through Sunday night which kinda left for a rather tiring day, but apart from the tiresomeness, I pulled through to make the day work. Went on a bit of a dummy run – ish for the Dentist appointment I have on Wednesday, no idea why it has to be somewhere else but hey, never question a guy with a drill that gives people nightmares. Anyway on way back saw Rob, Ben and Helen, don’t think they actually were wanting me to come, but hey my Dad ended up making it a must by parking right beside them. Anyway we went to the Fair in Clecky, well, the plan was quite a few rides and then that’ll be it, ended up been a … ride then closing time, yeah why not. Yeah think we ended up a bit late, having said that Rob and Helen took about a year to get there, anyway moving on, annoyed I couldn’t get a bleeding Hot Dog. The night resulted like most, Punch Bowl then food thats absolutely awful then home, but this time in time for Two and a Half Men, oooo!

Tuesday
Tuesday was a bit better than Monday, why? Well, going to sleep was a massive booster, as it is for many. No, err Tuesday was just weird to be honest, aside from the College, which I haven’t even mentioned till now, its all so so at College now, not even worth mentioning to be honest, getting a bit too boring now. Anyway, on the way back my bus plan majorly backfired with me missing 2 buses, difference between normal missing 2 buses is I watched them pass me, ugh! Anyway, resulted in me waiting a bit longer than originally wanted, ended up bumping in to James Hodgson, yeah an’t seen him in a while. Then went home, and more people who I hadn’t spoken to for ages were on the bell, yeah strange day indeed. Sidenote: Yes I would like an iPad.
Anyway, so Tuesday!

Todaii!
Don’t know why I spelt it like that, but anyway. Today was rather entertaining if you’re a fan of riding buses and smelling old people then in a result of enduring that going to the dentist, yep my day in a nutshell. But did miss a lot of College, 3/4 of first lesson, second as usual, then the last was cancelled as tutor was away, so yeah not bad in the end. Got EMA sorted so I’ll still get some dosh at end of the week, yeah not bad considering.

Ought Else
… … No.

Blog Friday April 2nd 2010 – Trip 2, Theatre…ish, HTC Desire, I Hate Maestro and more!

Well, happy Friday to you all, todays been quite a boring day for many reasons, which I’ll get to, but before all this … other things have happened.

Wednesday
Wednesday was our last day of College, as such anyway, in reality we finished on Tuesday and had something to go to on Wednesday which involved no work so was more like a trip. It was a massive improvement from last Tuesday. Got a tour around and more. But to be honest whilst it was better it doesn’t deserve its place in the blogersphere!

Hang on, did I just get a HTC Desire a Week Early!
However one good thing about this trip, despite it also meaning the beginning of the Easter 2 and a bit weeks holiday was the time we got back, last Tuesdays trip led us back to nearly 5PM, I know. But this week I was back by just after 2PM, which gave me time to do things. Now, as you know I’ve been high on the heels to getting myself an HTC Desire and Carphone Warehouse said yesterday (I went in my dinner hour) that they would have more information tomorrow about contracts etc. So went in basically to get some more information i.e what contracts are available. Now I had looked on their site and had my eyes set on a £30/month contract with Vodafone, the reason I wanted Vodafone was because its well sooooo much faster than O2 and Orange, the other options for the device, oh and T-Mobile, which would be great if T-Mobile had anything over … a bar, in anywhere I go. So, went in, and asked a guy (never got his name, although I believe its written on my reciept) about the device and to my rather surprise he said “Oh, yeh we got one in”, I was like “WHAT”, seriously even today, 2 days later writting this blog the device is still “Coming Soon” on Vodafone but available to Pre-Order for the date, Vodafone are stating 14th April to arrive. So, yeh. I think the shock just brought some intense momentum in my body that made me buy it then and their, oh did I mention that “one” was just the one they had. So, after convincing him rather slowly due to his intense persuasion that I didn’t want to go on O2, 3, T-Mobile, Orange, Virgin, I wanted to go on Vodafone, and I didn’t want a £70/£50/£40/£35 a month contract I wanted a £30, and that I didn’t want a 24 month contract I wanted a 18 one. I eventually left with the device. Based on the contract I had to pay some upfront, which was nice. So yeah, got it now. I’ll be doing a review next Wednesday coming, which funnily enough is when its available to buy from Vodafone, LOL! All I need now is a memory card (microSD), I was going to get a 32GB but their over £100 as they are so brand new. So, 16GB microSD to replace the 4GB it comes with and then err… yeah! I’ll be no doubt posting my first impressions review as I mentioned next Wednesday.

Thursday
Thursday’s always seem like rather dull days in my life, basically because its always my day off, but no one elses ugh. But today despite having the dog over, yeh didn’t mention that from Wednesday to possibly next Wednesday we have a dog, which I completely enjoyed sleeping … with. No this was not an April Fools joke it actually bluddy happened!

Theatre…ish
By Theatre I mean, not at all, but there you go. Anyway there was a performance we went to see at Ben’s College (not me, Ben Hunter), think it was Twelve Night, anyway we went to see it. And I have to say it was err… well if I had to rate, I’d rate it probably 6/10, why? Well, bad actors ruining it for good ones. Their was some absolutely amazing actors in it, especially the two playing drunk men, very good, yet their was this err… well not to be racist but everyone who was black, which was one man and a woman, were absolutely terrible, dreadful acting, when they were on stage with actually alright and good actors it just ruined everything! So, yeh get pretty much a new 40% cast and ya sorted. The parts that included good actors were very good have to say. Having said that I couldn’t tell anyone anything that happened, but yeh!
Then it was time for home, we were taking Ben with us home, so they was me, Ben, Rob and James (Rob’s brother) who ended up going. It was surprisingly late when it finished have to say.
The night ended with multi-stress between stuff going off, family matters between others which we will not publicly mention, but led to visits to Premiere Inn. Got back about 00:15 so, apart from missing the first part of the first of double-bill of Two and a Half Men on VIVA I was OK.

Friday (Today)
Well today has been pretty so-so, haven’t really noticed I haven’t gone to College (due to it have finished) but the day started a bit later than yesterdays 8:30AM thanks to the dog. The day has been rather boring actually hense why I’ve time to do the blog so early, even though EDIT I left it so it seems late.

I Hate Maestro
Now, don’t think I’ve mentioned I’ve got a HTC Desire in replacement to my iPhone 3G in which I’m planning on selling, but I do have one major problem with the Android OS and thats that like alot of online services Google have stopped supporting the Maestro brand of Debit Cards, yeah triff. Now I was already against them when I couldn’t pre-order HeartGold SoulSilver as GAME had stopped supporting them, now I’ve just reached breaking point. And to add to that its a bank holiday weekend from today till Monday, so I’ve to wait till Tuesday, ugh! So, yeah, no debit card needed.

Ought Else
Well if I’m been honest mate, no!

Random Sidenote: The new YouTube layout is absolutely sh**.

And thats all folks, E-Ya Later

Blog Tuesday 23rd February 2010 – Week Off!, What? More snow! and more!

My last blog was indeed a while ago, gotta stop doing this, mainly because I’m always fed up of typing all day, but hey I’m doing it now, actually to see if my Apple Wireless Keyboard will ever leave 100% battery life, its amazing! Anyway, back to the blog! As usual as its a long period of time since my previous blog I will section it out, oooo, exciting!

Week Holiday
Well, last week by the way, up came the time for a random week off for no apparent reason, but great I thought, could get something done, maybe some awesome stuff for RKUK Media, maybe one of the days of the week I could meet up with Rob, Ben and the gang, or maybe just Rob and Ben as they are literally are the video gang, but no complaints, quality over quantity … used to be the case eh … joking of course. ¬¬. Anyway, instead I had one of those weeks off you have, everyone has them now and then, by the way if you have never had it or ever do, “You lucky b*****d!”. Yeh, so absolutely nothing happened, so I added a few older Selection DVDs to RKUK Media, that is taking ages, although I am transferring 4,000 videos on to a section which is growing by 30 every 2-3 weeks. And another annoying thing happened during the week off which always seems to happen, is everything starts to happen at the end of the holidays, ugh sooo hate that, like, “I had an entire week to do something, and then it happens on the last weekend”.

Saturday
On Saturday Rob called, randomly and asked if I was coming out so I did. We went to the standard, the Weatherspoons, which seriously in absolutely everywhere where their is one it is always the meeting spot for everyone, amazing! Anyway, after a while of that, and for some reason some extreemly fit lasses for whyever (that is now a word) reason were wearing pyjamas outside and in Weatherspoons and an old perv was pretty much verbally harassing them we decided to move on, Rob suggested ‘Squash’. Never been, lets see. Well, got on bus, got there and wa-la! The bouncer was quite the bloke, “Got any ID?”, ‘Nope’, “Well you can still come in anyway”, right opposite a Police station, you can’t write this stuff … wait. Well, got in, went to the most dull and depressing room on the planet, freezing as hell, then into a wilderness of not-been-able-to-think-or-hear-ness, sat down and had a … whatever it was, eventually a few. Then, this blonde lass came up to me and said something, she mentioned “mate” and “number”, but before I could get anymore information, another song played and I couldn’t hear her, so yeh not a fan of the Squash for the plain reason I could actually (emphasis on the could) well, not be single, and with quite one. But hey, moving on to the night, it just got oh so much better ¬¬ (by the way thats a sarcastic eye, future reference) well I only knew about 3 of the songs they played, even they weren’t the best songs in the world, to add to that I knew every song that was playing on the muted TV in the background showing Kerrang! Two of Robs mates came over later in a Sport Fiat Chiquichento, oh yes! Then, they played pool, Rob lost, then I almost got stripped by some scary looking men, so yeh, wasn’t exactly my kinda night, but it ended with a ride in the car of epicness!

Sunday
Oh yes theirs more, week off, then it all kicks off in the last weekend, typical. Despite been up till 5AM on Saturday night, waking up at 11AM on Sunday morning and it had managed to thickly snow, how I don’t know, God, never judge the blokes possibilities! <<There’s something you won’t see in the Bible! Anyway, started playing some Colosseum (started on the Wednesday due to utter boredom, and well Duncan had done enough) and I saw Ben, Rob and someone I recognised yet didn’t know but kinda felt like I should as I knew pretty much everyone she knew, but anyway. Plus, we are awaiting confirmation whether she is allowed in this blog, what you need confirmation, no, I just can’t be assed searching. Anyway, had quite a laugh, even though she never sledged, oh yeh we went sledging quite an important point to make that wasn’t it, anyway, so err yeh! Their was a massive slope at the bottom of the large hill we were using that seemed to be the prime target for everyone who was sledging at that time, both Rob and Ben especially got it rather easily, for some reason I just failed bad style. I don’t know how but my shoes got trapped so I was flung in the air, fell off half way down another time, but Rob was also sledging at speed so I had to do a gymnastic 360, which if was videoed I can imaging was impressive. Although the more I fell down the more pain I had, but the last one was indeed the last straw, lets just say Duncan didn’t like it one bit, ah you see you get the previous line now! The night ended in the Weatherspoons playing some card game, to be ended by the longest walk ever!

Monday
Back at College now, unfortunately the snow vanished and didn’t help at all, by that I mean shutting places down, but hey, the day eventually ended to be broad back for some more sledging, yeh, for some reason Ben and Rob thought their was still snow on the ground, well lets just say it slightly failed! ¬¬ Then we were back again at the Weatherspoons, this time I brought money so I could actually order something, helps it really does, and it turns out Nathan was their with his mates that would later become the nights entertainment. Well, them and some randomers that looked like they’d come from a funeral, but I didn’t see what all the fuss was about, but some people are too weird to detect weirdness. Anyway, the night ended safe and sound and I got to watching my Two and a Half Men … just! Had to find Ben’s disc from College because he needed, yeh, pick 1AM on a work night to find it when my glasses steam up inside, so obviously I couldn’t find it, and obviously I found it 10 minutes after my sight cleared. Oh well. Still needs to pick it up that as well.

Today
Today was a rubbish day. Waaayyy done now! No, it was, another pointless day, but it ended annoying too, because it took me 30 minutes just to get someones attention to say “I’ve done, can I go now!”, so I could of left 30 minutes ago, annoying b***h, am I talking about a dog, well! Then I got Bens Disc in a place for him to pick up, but he never did, oh well. The disc by the way is the one that we got ‘3 Wise Men & Jeff‘ from. Their was two other on their, but I haven’t until now publicly revealed they aren’t very good, so we’ve actually rejected them! Sorry Ben, but wasn’t impressed, maybe its because ‘3 Wise Men & Jeff‘ is soo good.

RANDOM QUESTION: Why do Bus Drivers complain about rubbish on the bus? In all fairness there is no bins!

Anyway, thats alot, and all for now

E-Ya Later folks

Ben

Blog Friday 5th February 2010 – Birthday bash, Oops, and more!

Not to start the day on a low note, but is it me or was everyone either missing today, or just extremely moody, have no idea why, I know it rained but thats just taking the mik, anyway, back to a more exciting subject eh!

Birthday Bash
On Wednesday, been February 3rd was of course my birthday, thanks to who sent messages you know who you are, how?, well basically if you don’t know what I’m talking about then … it wasn’t you. Now we’ve got that sorted out let us move on. As you know, I did something I’ve never done before, wrote a 10-day review of something I got for my birthday the same day and that was of course the iMac, makes my Christmas present look pretty rubbish actually, HAH, beat that Jesus, anyway, now we’ve lost all christian audience I’ll continue, ps Hello foreigners and atheists. The only downside in having the iMac early which trust me I couldn’t think of anymore than one, was the fact that on my birthday it didn’t feel like my birthday, to top that it well, basically nothing happened, although it did snow … for some reason.

Thursday arrives my day off, and guess what? Now the party starts, ugh, bluddy hate that, Wednesday was so perfect as I could of got wasted and arrived in at home whilst my Mums walking to work and wake up at 4:30PM as if it was a normal Thursday, but no. Nah, wasn’t that bothered actually, turned out to be a very good night to be honest. We didn’t do much out of the ordinary, me, Rob, Caddy, Grandad (lee) and Jordan, Jordan is who I met during the Rob and Beth fiasco … I mean scenario … obviously, did I just type that out loud? Annoyingly for Rob the night started by automatically foiling one of his birthday plans, for everyone to wish Happy Birthday at the doorstep, but my Mum answered and said to Rob, come in, LOL! (Oh my god I said LOL in a blog) But as soon as I left I was greeted by a sound of low-key vocals singing happy birthday emerging from a dark alleyway with a brand new camcorder, not your average walk to the front gate of your garden! Anyway, “and the night, goes on …”. We ended up trailing round Cleckheaton starting at the good ‘ol Weatherspoons, then touring far and wide, well we went to another pub then back again, but it was at that other pub where it all started to kick off. All I’m gonna say is, drink + free shot from manager + every pack of Bacon Fries (including the Card Board) = Happy Ben. Turned out Kai worked at the bar which made it kind of a bonus to be honest. Rob kept getting his video camera out, all I’m gonna say is I’ve no idea what they’ve filmed but its gonna be bad isn’t it.
Then it kinda of got weird, had my bacon fries, saw the sky had turned purple after the shot I’d had, but both Ben (Hunter) and Kai both never returned, apparently they were supposed to meet us later but they never arrived, weird.
So, we arrived back at the Weatherspoons after Jordan found out he’d missed his last bus, which of course had to go for last resort being a taxi. In the Weatherspoons I don’t know what we played, oh yes, 3 people, sh*g, marry or holiday, all I remember is picking Cheryl Cole for sh*g, by the way the others chose the 3 to chose from, then it just got weird, I’m sure its all on bluddy video.
I was going to go straight home when it reached 12, but y know what I decided to stick to it to the end and you know what I’m glad I did, we had some chips, the kind that are only nice if your pi**ed or very close to being, so at the time they were lovely, whilst ordering we stared at a newspaper with a woman in it, say no more, we’re male and human. Then we went to what had to be a very silent visit to Grandads due to his parents been asleep and we went in to the cellor, don’t judge, its been done out, its now more of a drunken courtyard now, thats actually not a bad name for it to be honest, I’ll have to remember that. Jordan was not impressed with Robs homemade brew, as was many apart from Rob to be honest, oh and Lee, but to be honest he can’t tell the difference between Vodka and Water. Oh yeh I didn’t mention, Caddy went home after Weatherspoons incase you were following wondering. During the walk to Grandads, Ben rung and well, I don’t know to be honest, Lee said he wanted us to meet him or something, the answer was definitely a no if for anything been we went to the Weatherspoons for him to meet us in max 30 minutes.
Had a ride on Lee’s exercise bike, yes you read right, actually it was the only seat I could find. Jordan left in a taxi and Rob mentioned something he’s probably forgotten about but kinda hope he hasn’t, he said he’s going to re-write Dr Conrad and you could be seeing more of Dr Conrad by Q3 2010, look out for that then! We’ll see.

Anyway, I think that’s all, probably remember something else, I’ll post it in a future blog if I do.

E-Ya Later

Blog Sunday 24th January 2010 – New iMac and more

Well this has been a rather exciting weekend to be honest, well lets face it I’ve had an exciting Sunday. First of all I’ve got a 21.5″ iMac for £732, more on why it was that much in a minute. The iMac I’ve got has a 3.06Ghz Intel dual core processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive and … well the specs are here aren’t theyLINK. It also can be upgraded to 16GB of DDR3 RAM in the future. My basic first impressions of this system is, fast, beautiful and well I just love it. The 3.06GHz processor naturally puts my MacBook’s 2.4GHz to shame but you expect that, I just love everything. The wireless keyboard is awesome, and because its Bluetooth I can actually type a sentence upstairs whilst the iMac is downstairs, call me sad but I’ve tried it! I’d always had my doubts about the Magic Mouse but I have to say I absolutely love it, it looks amazing and is amazing to be honest. My favourite thing about the Magic Mouse is when you scroll you can scroll slowly, then woosh, your on the bottom of the page based on the speed of your scroll … you have to have one to understand.

Any problems with the iMac?
I can honestly say I haven’t had a single one, everything is working par so far! All you need is to look at it to love it. In fact my Dad’s just upgraded to Windows 7 on his Dell and he’s admitting the iMac is alot better so much for ‘I’m a PC’ on his part.

What? £732 … how?!
I got my iMac from Argos and that is exactly the reason why, to be honest I think I’m the last one to get it from that amazing bargain price. The price was not meant to be that much, all I’ve got to say is look in the Argos Cat. page 557, whilst Argos have noticed their mistake online by updating the Argos website displaying the iMac at £949, which in itself is £20 less than the standard Apple UK Store price, because its advertised as £732 in the Argos catalogue even the ones at the store its against the law for them not to sell it at that price, which they did. However before you run to the Argos stores to get yourself a £220 cheaper iMac, just be informed by me purchasing it, which was done by an Argos manager, now means it will be £949 no matter what, despite new catalogues still been given advertising the same price. They are also sorting the problem out with the 3rd party company that prints the catalogues. But for me, and wouldn’t surprise me, quite a few others, happy days. I now don’t have an empty bank balance on my birthday!

Best features of the iMac!
Apart from everything, by the way I’ll be upgrading it to 8GB DDR3 RAM soon, just to give it abit more grr, I was gonna do it to the max 16GB, but hey whats the point, put it this way 4GB that comes with its fast, 8GB will scream, 16GB will prob blow it up, well y know, plus there is the whole part of affording it. Anyway, best feature of the iMac to me is actually the speakers, seriously they are better than you’d expect, and I bet some people are reading this going, wow, the iMac has speakers! Don’t get me wrong speakers are better but I challenge you to find speakers better than the iMacs that are built in to a computer. And the screen is just to die for, whilst I wanted the 27″ model, based on the fact thats been having a few issues that are, slowly but surely, getting solved as time goes by, I’m glad I didn’t because with an iMac, or any PC attempt to copy it all-in-one, a 21.5″ display isn’t a 21.5″ display, it feels and is alot better than just a display and because its also a computer feels bigger. So yeh, speakers and display! I’ve heard the 27″ models speakers are even better!

Worst features of the iMac!
What worst features, seriously its all good, the only problem I had with it is I think the aluminium edges are a bit too sharp, but hey who touches desktops a lot, only when your moving it and thats rare.

Overall first impressions!
I keep forgetting I’ve only had it a few hours, love it, easily networked my MacBook to transfer files. I cannot anymore recommend the 21.5″ iMac, it just rocks at all you throw at it. I’ll have a 6 month review for you in … well, 6 months.

And that my first impressions of the iMac

Blog Monday 18th January – Week Blog, Apple News and more!

Well here we are in another blog, have to apologise for taking nearly two weeks, annoying thing for my typing hands is I’ve alot for this blog, argh they’re aching knowing whats coming up.

Since my last blog an individual of the UK other than me has become single, I’ve got some awesome Apple news that doesn’t involve me but involves some tablet thingy apparently. But we’ll get to the Apple News later.

Year of Jeremy Kyle in less than 15 lines!
So, think back a long time, it was the 6th my last blog, god I make this hard for myself. Anyway Rob broke up with his girlfriend which to be honest I’ve publicly shown kinda got on my nerves and he seemed to be diminishing as a person so be nice to see the old Rob back, welcome unmonitored Rob. Am I been harsh? Absolutely not, I don’t want to get too far into it but seriously she (un-named not for legal reasons like on the news just … actually I dunno why?) took the absolute mik, this was a year of Jeremy Kyle in 30 minutes, oh yeh! Anyway, the night took a while to end but it eventually did.
It all happened on yet another one of the days where people had off due to the major snow recently, we started sledging which was actually alot more fun that I thought it was gonna be, had my doubts. Then in the evening we decided to go to the pub then the night went from ‘notta bad night’ to, well. I knew something was up before we even started to be honest, something was bothering I’d say both sides, but anyway, long story (too long story to be normal) short, its over and thank god.

The Snow Incident
Speaking of the snow, this is the first week where it hasn’t started covered in snow, seriously I’ve had more or less a month off College due to the snow, which is good until you realise they aren’t gonna change due dates for work not even set yet, so expect tough catch up soon. Last Wednesday was kinda the only funny one, because after all the times it was closed when I had taken the journey their (just) because the site said it was open (useless that) on Wednesday I thought, well this is worst than ever, I’ll tell EMA I’m not going and I did, guess what College stayed open, but seriously that was the worst we’ve had, you were moving whilst standing still if that makes sense. I think the big most important reason not to go to College after the reasons I’d mentioned was I was just at the bottom of my street and a Transit van skidded and was literally (no lie) 5 metres away from me when it stopped skidding, and I don’t know about you but err… Life or College, I took Life so yeh walked back then.
But looks like the snows gone now right. …? … To be Continued.

Apple News
January 27th has been officially announced as the date of an Apple Event. Now unlike the 2007 MacWorld where it said ‘There’s Something in the Air’ for the MacBook Air, Apple aren’t giving anything away for this one, just colours and ‘Come see our latest creation’, its intriguing to say the least and we all can’t wait can we. Personally and I think everyone else thinks the star of the show is the tablet, because what other new product are they making. If the heading is to go by, they are introducing a new Apple product, not an update. Having said that a keynote is pretty dull just having one thing so I’d expect some iPhone 4.0 Software news, possibly the Intel advert that got axed could be brought back with a MacBook Pro update to give it Core i5 and i7 Quad Core processors maybe?
All anyone can say is lets wait and see, and we all can’t wait!

RKUK News
VEVO
VEVO is a music video site created by both YouTube and Universal Music Group to host high quality videos online for everyones enjoyment. Well, we have partnered with VEVO and so content on RKUK Selection DVDs will have help from VEVO. But don’t put VEVO aside, it may have had a shaky start on YouTube but trust me the player is fine now and if the content keeps coming this could be the end of music television and hello music on demand, NICE!
So, yeh don’t take VEVO lightly if they get it correct you’ll be loving it like hell, and we can’t wait till vevo.com comes to the UK as well.

But thats all for now, E-Ya Later
