Blog Sunday 2nd October 2011

Since my last blog … well, not much has happened, which is good as I can’t really be assed typing much today, so woo about that I suppose.

College

College this week has been a bit less annoying than last week, mainly due to the fact that I didn’t have to spend my back up fiver on a trip of a pointlessness to a University to do exactly what I did last year, no lie. But hey. No, it all went pretty smoothly to be honest, obviously starting to feel the increase demand of the course, but hey, I’m in a Uni course now, which begs the question on why I’ve titled this part as College …. tell ya what, next blog onwards it will be titled Uni alright, good.

Monday was alright, nought special, just alright lol. I didn’t at all enjoy my first lesson purely due to the Book we’ve to work through throughout the year, this time it was installing an OS, oh joy, never done that before, pretty boring but looks like things will get more interesting and challenging on that lesson through the year. Then in the next lesson we got on to some other stuff which was made easier due to some software we had, it led to some work to do at home, oh the joys, but hey what ya gunna du!

Tuesday was interesting to say the least, me, Chris and Clare from my course ended up randomly been told to do a presentation to test our presentation skills. This wouldn’t be annoying, but this was the day I started to get a cold and my voice had died, so… thhhanks! Without my voice I don’t have my mo-jo, which probably explains absolutely blowing it at the start and forgetting where I am, kinda like the Sony President on MacWorld a few weeks back (link), that was me! Luckily Chris recovered the presentation and the ending part I did alright. Luckily my voice is coming back now so if we get prompted suddenly for another presentation then I’m ready … probably won’t happen now. Least out of it all, got 2 great friends now.

Rest of the week

This week I went to Tesco with Caddy to get a Photo from the Photo Machine which is now FIVE POUNDS!!! Either way, couldn’t do it that day as it was more expensive than we thought and it needed to be in coins. … So next day I did it and got it, yey! Except it wasn’t because the chair jammed that you put higher so you can sit on it, so the photo is me been stressed because I’m standing awkwardly, woo, pfft.

Also saw Lee for a bit, had some of Rob’s left over cans from the Dinner Party, which was fun. Watched prob the weirdest awesome Craig Ferguson episode with the sound effect lol. Was alright.

This week has probably been the worst week for weather ever, I hate warm weather, and especially hate warm weather in Britain, so 30c in the UK is extreme. Had to get my own chippies on Friday as my Mum and Dad have had another week off this week, which is so annoying because it means there always in the way, ugh. But hey. Had some lovely chippies.

Graham Coxon

Anyone who knows me know I’m a pretty big fan of Blur, I mean the band have been around my whole life, there debut album Leisure came out in 1990 for godsake and their latest single ‘Fool’s Day’ was released in 2009 so they’ve definitely been around my whole life. Their main guitarist Graham Coxon has been described as one of the best guitarist of his generation which is really accurate, even Noel Gallagher said he was an amazing guitarist! But when Graham left Blur in 2002 before Think Tank and came back in 2009 for the reunion, he’s been releasing solo albums. I’d heard ‘Freakin Out’ and I wasn’t that keen on it, prob cause I heard the live version, but I decided to look through his back catalogue, he’s got 9 albums, where did they come from, thats as many as Blur and Oasis have, he makes music quick. Got his entire back catalogue of albums and there’s some really good songs man, he’s awesome. So yeyy, another artist to get the “All albums and songs” on my iPod.

Saturday’s Journey

On Saturday things were interesting, got woke up by Rob on the phone, which is always the way I love been woken ……….. yeah! Anyway, we ended up going round Leeds, which was alright, really fancied a Sausage Roll soooo much, but had no freaking money, ugh. But hey. We went round Leeds looking at stuff, had a look at the 11 inch MacBook Air, thinking of getting that next year to be honest as a much more portable notebook, but a portable notebook that works unlike those crappy netbooks, prob not until February next year like. Had a look at some tablets as well, long story short, Android tablets are awful, the Playbooks too small, and the crowds were around the iPads.

Rob ended up buying a Camera, for some reason. The Camera has many features including ones you’d expect, HD recording, many exposure settings, USB connectivity, SD storage and all that good stuff, then it has just insane features like …. Dog and Cat modes. Oh yes, the camera automatically takes a picture of a dog and a cat it sees, it works as well, Dog mode worked on Rob’s dog and even Rob so the mode works lol.

Then the night progressed, we ended up going round Cleck, quite a lot joined us actually, I was wondering whether to invite Jess out as she’d been mentioning she’d like to hang out with us, but ended up not, I’d rather invite someone out who I could buy a drink to be honest and I was still skint, shame. As the night progressed we had Rob (for a while), Caddy, Lee, Flash and more, quite a group to be honest. At the end of the night it was just me, Lee and Flash, or was there …. DUH DUUUHHHH! Thanks to Flash’s experiment we ended up joining Tesco Bernard lol and crew, yeah that went well lol. We were 3 quiet ignored folk one the edge of a table full of chatters, FAIL moment. But it did lead to Flash turning in to Jeremy Kyle for a while. Yeah, interesting. Anyway, night ended like many with some sh***y chips, this time got by Lee, thanks Lee. And that was that!

Ought Else

  • I was suppose to get my first, well everyone was, finance payment by last Tuesday, guess what, haven’t, which is very annoying to say the freaking least as everyone is unexpectedly skint for the course, and the first one is kinda the most important one so you can get started. So if I don’t get it by Monday its time to complain and inquire on what the hells going on eh. Wouldn’t mind, but as soon as I do get paid I’m gonna have to pay loads of people back as because I’m completely skint I’ve been having to scrounge, oh how I love you Student Finance, pfft. Mean what I say, Monday we’ll all see then.
  • One thing I found incredibly interesting this week was ticking a box in iTunes for my iPhone 4 which changed a lot of things, the “Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC” option is incredible. I’ve a 32GB iPhone 4 and it was in its last 1GB, music took up nearly 16GB, I enabled this option and boom, I suddenly have nearly 8GB free, thats amazing! I could double my library with this setting turned on, and I’ve 1400+ songs now! The great thing about this feature is it doesn’t change the higher bit rate songs on your Computer, so definitely try it out, its a great feature. And, 128Kbs AAC is about the same quality as 256Kbs MP3, yeah, starting to like AAC aren’t we. Quality wise even in my headphones I couldn’t tell, all this feature has given me, is more memory! Go for it.

But thats it for now, till next week eh.

Blog Sunday 25th September 2011 – This is a Big One

OK, it might have been quite a while since my last blog, but my god it hasn’t half all happened. Not only have I lost my course place due to the most stupidest of excuses ever, undergone complaints to get it back and ugh so much more, I’ll get into that later. But I’ve we’ve also lost one of our group. Also probably some of the worse yet oddly possible chat up lines, oh the lolz on that one! As well as more house hang outs, dinner parties, and well, more!

The Lee…ness Continues

In my last blog I mentioned how I’ve pretty much been doing nought but going to Grandad Lees house, which don’t get me wrong has been awesome, and yes the madness continues. Performed some more music, which is always epic. Watched some more Celebrity Deathmatch, still the only good thing on MTV, we watched the awesome Robert De Niro with the ‘what’s a matter you’ Italian part. We watched the Charlie Sheen one as well, which lead to some pretty awful chat up lines, such as the amazing “wow, you must be tired, cos you’ve been running through my mind all day” and the amazing “Excuse me, can I have you’re number, I’ve lost mine!”. Oh ho that’s the guud stuff! Also “are you from the Caribbean, cos you’re Jamaican me crazy!”, for some reason I have to say that in an accent, still awesome thought!

Monday (12th)

This week has started interesting anyway, on Monday I ended up getting some brew down myself and ended up hanging round with Lee, Rob as well as some of Robs work mates, which ended up leading to getting rather …. bamboozled, let’s just say. Accidentally, well kinda deliberately spilt an entire pint all over Rob, which if anything was amusing! Was it deliberate Ben … well as much as I’d love to say it was, and how it would be pretty epic, it was an accident, sorry! Anywho, Rob, Grandad Lee … Rob again, his twin and a lass called Lorna and I had quite an interesting night to say the least.
After been out quite a while, they were all on about going to Robs house for a few (The new Rob) which I was against at first as I was feeling pretty tired and in all fairness had to get up in morning, more on that later, but all was well. Had a few laughs, not bad folk to be honest, hopefully Rob doesn’t poison them like he has to us and ruin their lives lol. One thing we all agreed on by the end of the night was if we ever had to sort Rob and the new Rob out, we’d just call Rob, nob ed, and the other just Rob, works out easy, and everyone knows which ones which lol. But yeah, interesting night, spent more than I wanted to, but what can you do eh!

My College Predicament

As you may or may not know, after completing my previous course at College I applied for a HE course (Higher Education) at the same centre. The course I applied for had a few additional advantages over doing it somewhere else, notably the only 2 day weeks, leaving time for a part time job for example, and the much lower tuition fees in comparison to Universities. Anyway, applied for the course, did the amazingly easy to use (pfft lol) UCAS system to apply for it, and during the holidays got a yes from both UCAS and the centre itself that the course was as good as mine. Anyway, after receiving a letter for the enrolment day, I turn up only to be pretty much turned away from the course tutor who, in her opinion, thought I was not ready for the course, I know! Anyway, obviously quite shocked by the new development, it turned out that she had been trying to contact me over the holidays to let me know about some new conditions … we got nothing by the way, but she claimed that all she got was an answer machine and doesn’t leave messages, which is quite frankly ridiculous. So, at the end of the day I’d no choice but to go home. I rang in to College to ask to talk to her and somehow persuade her to change her mind, thinking I was in the wrong somehow and/or thus circumstances happen often, but it wasn’t until I got some Careers help until I realised that wasn’t the case. The following week I went to see someone for some advise, basically to get some quick advise as next step was pretty much going to have to be a job, as it was waaay too late to apply elsewhere like she suggested at College.
Anyway, I went to visit a Careers advisor who quite frankly after hearing what had happened to me, couldn’t even believe what I was telling her and got some very interesting developments out of that visit. Not only had the College gone against its contract for denying a student entry in to a course after receiving a written confirmation, there was also some legal complications, ooo it had it all. I have to right now thank that Careers women, she was incredible and told College a thing or too over phone, I was like …. sh** lol, she was so demanding and controlling over phone.
Long story brought short, I was later contacted by the top dogs at College basically explaining due to the circumstances if I still wanted the course it was not in their rights to stop me enrolling and going on the course … funny how some people change their minds suddenly isn’t it. Anyway, I’m on now, we’ll see how this year goes won’t we.
It makes you think though doesn’t it, if I’d of done nothing they’d of got away with that, I truly believe they thought I was just gonna walk away, I couldn’t do that, if anything, due to how late they denied me entry I’d of been f***ed anyway. So there you go, learned a lesson their, never accept a no, fight for your position.

Attempted Burglary

So, if the stress of the problems with College wasn’t enough, on the morning I was awaiting a phone call from College about what the situation was on enrolling again, on Thursday 15th September, I’ll remember that date for two reasons now, I awoke to find my Dad said down looking in no way ready for work, which he would of been at that time, and a back door with no key hole anymore … well there was a hole, but no key placement at all. They didn’t get in, which was probably due to the technique you had to use to open the door as it was f***ed, but the one thing that would of stopped them even if the door was in working order was our jammers. Can’t remember why or when we first got the jammers, just some strong additional locking for the inside, we’ve got them on both the front and the back door and they saved anyone getting in, so yeah, can’t not recommend them enough. The Police think they were after car keys to steal the car, either way, who knows what they wanted, all we know is, they didn’t get ought. AND, where was Colin in all of this lol. It was the same day I went to College for my second enrolment which actually led to me getting on the course, at 3PM. We got the door fixed the day after on Friday, got a College timetable to start the following Monday and yeah, that was that.

Home Alone Week

If I’m glad about one thing, its that the attempted burglary didn’t happen the week after lol. But hey, one day after the door was fixed, everyone was off on holiday, and I mean everyone this time, both sisters and partners, Mum, Dad, the lot, thank you! This meant a whole week of purely no distractions and enjoyment. Things kinda kicked of instantly on the week off with a dinner party.

-Dinner Party

Arranged fully literally the previous day whilst at the duck at Grandad Lees, me and the crew were gonna have a dinner party. It was originally going to be filmed as a kinda ‘Come Dine With Me’ spoof, but that never happened, which I can’t say I cared about really. The day started with some preporations, purchased some more supplied of food for the event and brought them back to my house. The day didn’t kick off to a great start when I got a phone call saying Kai and Jess couldn’t make it which was a big let down to say the least, and was incredibly relieved when they changed their mind to come. So, it was me, Rob, Grandad Lee, Kai and Jess all facing my amazing cuisine.

  • The starter was rather basic and very simple to make ….. its Toast alright lol. If I may so myself, I think I make some pretty nice toast. Everyone seemed to enjoy the starter, although lets be honest, thats a pretty safe and normal thing to eat.
  • The main course was my specialty, Microwave Fish Fingers, yummy! 7 Birds Eye fish fingers in a microwave for 1:40 (on an 800watt microwave) each side, spend no longer than 15 seconds turning every fish finger around, then after the ping of the other side, your done, set! Sprinkle with salt and you’ve got a pretty nice main. Seen as I was serving for 4 and only had 1 microwave, everyone had 3 and a half Fish Fingers.
  • The desert was strange because Kai brought in a Cheesecake lol. But anyway, the desert I planned was of course, Scones! Lovely.
  • Drinks include Lucozade and …. no thats it. If you want to go to the extreme you can try what Kai had, a nice Lucotini, strong stuff that is! ……… OK, its Lucozade in a shot glass, but hey!

The rest of the night was great, Jess appreciated lets just say, my shirt and tie, I thought why not really lol. I’ve been trying out Windows 8 on the iMac on Boot Camp which Rob had a look at and tried getting on his crappy netbook. Then, we all had Scones whilst watching Craig Ferguson’s ‘A Wee Bit O Revolution’. The night was a success I thought as I did the look you do sometimes whilst hosting a night, looked around saw everyone laughing … OK it was at the stand up show, but ya know, the night felt a success. ….. or so I thought, we’ll get on to that later, don’t want to ruin my mood typing this. Anyway, when Rob, Kai and Jess had gone for reason we’ll get on to later as I said. Me and Lee decided to look through some things online, why not eh. We ended up watching some comedy to kinda cheer us up from what had happened, then spoke about that needed to be done. Aside from that, the night was great, thanks to those who turned up.

-Monday … might of been Sunday, who knows eh!

On Monday(?), Rob and Lee came down, mainly for some laughs, Rob apologised for the Dinner Parties rough ending lets just say, yeeahh! I decided to forget about it for the night. Had a laugh, few drinks which led to watching some of the worst songs ever in music video form on YouTube … which then led to the weirdest craze. We ended up watching Disney music in different languages, yep! It was pretty awesome to be honest. Then, Rob had to go due to work in the morning, then me and Lee continued finding weird random content like we always do, and that was that.

-College

It was sad that I had to go to College on a home alone week, and was quite nervous going their to be honest based on all that happened, but you know something, it wasn’t that bad to be honest. I know its only the first week, but had a pretty ok week to be honest. Ended up going to Leeds Uni on the Friday as whilst I’m no actually at Leeds Uni, I am a student based on the fact my College is partnered with them and I’m doing a HE course. Either way, quite a boring day, but hey, gonna get a Leeds Met card so I can use their facilities if I want, even if I never go their it gives me a nice Apple Store discount lol.

-Visiting my Grandma & Grandad

It had been a while since I’d last visited my Grandma and Grandad and I was pleasantly surprised when I got a phone call from my Grandma on Tuesday asking if I wanted to go to theirs for tea sometime in the week, to which I said I’d come the next day. And the next day after retuning all the TVs thanks to the big Digital Switch Over in the UK, I went and had tea at my Grandmas & Grandads. It wasn’t nice I’m sorry to say lol, didn’t say that obviously, but hey. It was very nice to see them anyway, ended up watching Midsomer Murders, phworr lol, then went home. I ended up going as well the next day, last Thursday, and happily had a lovely tea, had some bluddy lovely Yorkshire Pudding. Then after a few laughs about not been able to use an electric Salt dispenser, we watched some Billy Connoly on TV, love that guy. Unfortunately due to going to Leeds Met on the Friday I couldn’t come the next day, but they were just happy I’d come over as was I to be honest, I was great to see them.

-A Friday Drink and a laugh with Kai & Jess

Sounds like a crap movie title that lol. But hey, on Friday, after going to Leeds Met and had some lovely chippies, later that night I went out to pub to meet up with Kai for the last time in quite a while. When I arrived their, no one was their which annoyed me abit, the pub was busy and I was a bit late as well, but no one there, I was like … wwwell lol. But had a few walks up and down, then gave him a text, and like everything, as you try to fix something, it fixes itself, there they were. Had a few drinks, which happily they bought most of lol, and just had a really good laugh. Completely forgot the name of the other guy that came and chatted with us for a while, but he seemed pretty awesome, but was soon gone. We left the Wickham which we were at for quite a few, then stopped off at the always last stop, the Spoons. Had a few their, been it Friday it shut later, which was great as the night was going so well to stop at 12, was a shame though when it had to end, mostly as it will be a good while till I see Kai. and I’m not sure about Jess. I told them about seeing Johnny English Reborn, when it comes out in the Cinema, and that we were all planning on going together when it came out, which Jess said she would love to come with us, so we’ll have to arrange that. Well, until next time eh Kai, who knows may see Jess before then, would be nice.

End of The Home Alone Week

And that was it, my week home alone! Had a really great week (considering the one thing) so thanks to all that made it a really awesome week!

The One Thing

Now, one thing that has been patterning itself throughout this blog has been the dinner party at my house had a one thing we said we’d mention later, well, welcome to later lol. Rob and his girlfriend, if you call it that recently have really been annoying the whole lot of us, plainly because, whatever is wrong with her, or wrong with them, she always has (only recently btw) this absolutely unbearable attitude, and she just turns up to ruin a whole night, it happened on Kai’s original leaving do, which was the main reason I invited Kai to my Dinner Party to try and to a take two, and guess what, she ruined that too. Think we’re all at the moment just thinking Rob get rid of her, he evidently doesn’t like her either recently, we’re all just pissed off at the moment with her, and all of Rob’s quite repetitive crap excuses on why its not over. So, there you go, a rough bitchy end to my blog lol. I think its fair to say I’m not speaking on behalf of just myself here. Now, I’ve had to put up with many friends girlfriends, or boyfriends to some women I know, and if I don’t truly like them I don’t show it and socialise for the friends sake, and I think most people are like this, but we all just can’t take it anymore, so you know what, we’re not!

Ought Else

  • To try and not end on a completely err… booyacasha mood lol, some pretty interesting stuff have happened recently, I’m still addicted to Jeeves and Wooster, in fact I’ll be watching another after this blog, bluddy love it. Prob not the language they’d use, but hey, times have changed, but it’s still amusing to see in to the past, and how can you not love the combination of Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie.
  • I’ve also been trying out Windows 8 Developer Preview, did a blog showing you where to get it, its very different which is good, whether thats a good or bad thing you’ll have to wait until my first impressions review.
  • Oh, and seen as I can’t think of anything else to say, just to let you know my updated Peoples of Awesomness list comes in at the end of every month, so the 30th of this month, some interesting switches on their I’d expect.
  • And my Mum came back from her holiday in Mallorca, but came back with the most awful cat ornament, think she was having one of her moments when she thought it was a good idea to buy that. [Photo]

Holiday Blog Sunday 7th August 2011

Having not posted anything throughout the month of July you’re probably thinking my god Ben you are just taking the piss in the laws of laziness, well … kinda, but its the holidays so everyone is kinda occupied and of course I’ve been undergoing a massive revamp of the RKUK Media website so things have been a bit hectic but we’ll soldier on.

I know the holiday isn’t over yet but I thought I needed to add a blog basically just to remind people that I’m alive.

This blog is going to be as brief as possible, not only because I want to get this blog over with, and the fact I’ve forgotten alot of things, but because some things I don’t want to talk about too much to be honest.

Damn Crows

When it comes to life in the world of randomness we’ve produced some new epic tracks on the Damn Crows front which is awesome, the songs may not be in everyones mind, but I have to say the songs are getting better everytime, which probably isn’t saying much, but its saying something. I’ve made an interesting decision to cover a song by Mt Desolation as an upcoming B-Side, yeah, thats gonna go well lol. We don’t even know what the next single is gonna be or have any plans yet but it will happen soon, probably.

Love and Hateness

In the world of love and hateness, the last few months have been incredibly up and incredible down soon after, and the cycle has kept itself going on repeat mode. This has probably been a bit hard for me recently and has got me a bit stressed privately, the way I prefer to keep it hence the rather briefness of this blog. We’ve had the ultimate highs, spending time together and expressing love for each other making me the happiest man ever, some fantastic chats, just some of the best times of my entire life. And there’s been lows, which have made me the saddest man ever. This is what love does to you isn’t it. The mood right now is … kinda the middle, but ya know. I’ve noticed everytime I add a blog at good times it somehow jinxes it and something buggers up, so I’ve waited until we’re in a not brilliant time to hope that things look up in the future eh. Knowing my life, logic will notice what I’m doing and fuck it up anyway, but we’ll see.

Ought Else

Everything else has been typical holiday season, waking up late, feeling quite lazy, going oh god do I have to go out now, going out after and still thinking the same, but hey, had a few laughs suppose.

Joined Google+ as well, even though time has passed when they said it would go public and it still hasn’t. Have to say though, a month on, it started with a boom, made records, everyone was wow … but if it doesn’t go public really soon, then it will be forgotten! Even with Google behind it, it will be forgotten if they don’t hurry up. Anywho, my Google+ is here!

Revamped RKUK Media, been a big thing this actually. It took some time, but RKUK Media now looks a whole lot cleaner, content is delivered a whole lot better in my opinion. So RKUK Media is now much better for the visitors, but its also tonnes better for us. One big problem that was heating up on RKUK Media was the cost to run it. We spent way over $200 a year to keep RKUK Media running, thats approaching $20 a month. But, with our new revamp, we switched providers and we’re now paying less than $20 a year, now thats not even 70cents a month, so we’re obviously very happy with this. So to the future of RKUK Media I say.

Also got everything for the coming two years sorted as well, courses successfully applied for, money has been sorted, so everything is looking pretty sorted out at the moment. In fact everything is going pretty alright at the moment in my life, its just a shame that the one thing I would like to be going perfectly never does, but thats just life been its asshole self to me, and whether you believe in it or not, there is not a God in my life, if there is a God, he’s not paying much attention to me. I know that might sound selfish but seriously, some areas of my life have been hell recently and I have really struggled to keep going and put a smile on my face, I’d like to say things are getting better, and in some areas they are, but they are still some things really making me quite sad at the moment which I hope start to lift up soon.

==

Anyway, thats as brief as I can ever go, I will be back to a new schedule of blogs soon, which is gonna be interesting, but until then, thats all for this one. E-Ya Later

Blog Wednesday 11th May 2011

I know what you’re thinking ya thinking, well probably first I we really starting this conversation thing at the start of the blog, well yes on that one! No, you’re probably thinking, err, wow Ben a midweek blog, and yes we’re gonna see how it goes.

No, stuff has sorta happened really so err, lets get to it.

College

I’ve already expressed my feelings on how I think my College course is going which really isn’t worth talking about but this week has been pretty interesting so far due to the pure awesomness of people at College which is kinda what keeps me going to be honest.

Monday

If there is one thing I found out about Mondays today it was that the only reason I liked last week was because I missed Monday, seriously what is it about Mondays thats just so bad, well I have the answer, it all derives around Information Systems, just can’t freaking get them at all. Anyway, err, well, now I’ve unmasked that mystery for me, well dunno what to say now. Its true though, because if the perception that people don’t like Mondays as its the start of the week was true then surely I’d of hated last Tuesday, but I didn’t, ya see what I mean. And finding out I had an exam the following day didn’t really help my thoughts of the upcoming week ahead. But yeah, nought to say about Monday, as usual. Was good to see the awesomeness of College people.

Tuesday

College

Tuesday didn’t start too great to be honest, first off getting the wrong times and getting up late, then after rushing to the bus I would have taken anyway that bus not arriving so I’m 10 minutes late for an exam, yeah that could only go well right. Anyway, when I arrived late to the exam I noticed that things mustn’t of been going so smoothly and everyone was just about coming in so ended up arriving on time, then realised that Josh had sort of delayed the tutor abit whilst I’d posted on FaceBook why I was late which was pretty awesome of him to do. Despite arriving on the later than usual, on time thing to the test, I for one was not in the greatest of states as by rushing I wasn’t wearing deodorant (no one all day noticed though) and I’d had nought to eat or drink so yeah great right. The test itself oddly seemed to go quite well, which for me is a problem as everytime something feels like its going well its not, well for me anyway, its like sex lol. Anyway, we’ll soon see how the test went, hopefully I passed obviously, but ya know we’ll see. But it wasn’t the test that was the interesting part of the day, it was kinda after the test. When we arrived in to the next lesson, which the test we’d just done had kinda broke in to a bit timewise, the tutor was like ‘do you want to do this lesson or go’, erm, well, I think I’ll go tbh. We still did that lesson but in the afternoon instead which no one complained about, this lead to a 2 hour and a quarter dinner break, shueet. Went in to town with Josh and both Sams and just had a laugh to be honest which was great. Sam with a hat left us pretty quickly though as he left with some random guy, then me, Josh and Sam J had a walk round town. Josh then decided it was about time to purchase some what I shall called giggidy protection. Now, this is normally a proud moment for a man, as you’re basically saying “Yes I’m getting some”, but that feeling always seems to be dashed by the judgement of the people serving you, so going to Boots or Lidl was a no go, especially Lidl which if for any reason is the scene of the crime when Josh pretty much bashed his head open.

Anyway, we ended up going to ASDA, where the sexual innuendo just kept on coming, if not because when Josh decided to purchase his stuff from ASDA it had the cheeky Rollback smile on it, and he was like wow thats cheap, to which I responded with a loud “rollback!!!”, like ya do. Anyway, whilst travelling around ASDA we also found eggs that were quote on quote “Big and British”, which just kept the sexual innuendo going for even longer. Aside from that, Sam bought some Lucozade, I bought some very nice Shortbread, two for £3 Rollback! And, well, Josh went to the express tills lol. Ya see there is a solution to that problem folks. Anyway, when we left ASDA we had a walk back in to town, I got some lovely sausage … rolls, (sigh) and the innuendo continues. Anyway after having my rather very nice if I may say so sausage rolls, we headed back to College, which was quite sad to be honest as I really enjoyed that break, it was more like a day out than anything else, felt a shame to ruin it with lesson but hey. We took a bus to get back to College, Josh ended up going home due to “sickness”, I had some shortbread on the bus and me and Sam went back to College for the last 10 minutes or so of break. Met back up with Sam with a hat, then after that we ended up doing a few lessons, which dragged to be honest but hey, they ended. Only problem was I kept knocking my biscuits so the day ended with me saying “Oh no, my biscuits are coming out!”, which was amusing.

Ought Else

Well what else do you want on a going well day than to have two dogs fighting in front of you, oh how I long for that to happen all the time, Ben are you been serious, well obviously not. Yeah, that was the night following, just led to me being very tired to be honest. People ask me alot they say “Ben why do you like cats more than dogs?”, well the effort, the freaking destroying of all they see, and I don’t like been licked in the face …. by dogs, oooo …. Ben are you insinuating that you actually do like being licked but not by dogs but by something else probably sexual based … why maybe! … OK that was a bit weird lol. One thing which I got a fix off which I’ve been missing was some messaging and stuff from the lovely awesomeness person who can’t be named in my public blogs, oh gosh darn. Her Blackberrys broke down, just like I’ve said to Rob, get a proper phone, for Rob because err… he should, and for her because she’s not around the social landscape and available to chat to which I miss.

Other stuff that happened today was I released Selection 96 on RKUK Media, couldn’t get Craig Ferguson thanks to some problem, hopefully get it soon. UPDATE: Got Craig Ferguson on Wednesday, so two eps on Wednesday.

Today

Well today was like most days off recently, quite bland. Mostly on days off I either go out with some mates, that didn’t happen, or talk to someone I love … which thanks to RIM and there terrible products, that didn’t happen either … and no Rob I’m not talking about you. But hey, no dog fights today between Millie and Milo, although they did pop down, but in separate occasions. Anyway, least I’ve two episodes of Craig Ferguson to watch to day rather than one, which I won’t complain about at all, as its awesome, watch it whilst finishing off my Shortbread. Rollback FTW.

Well, that about does it for the moment, something I’ve forgotten to say in recent blogs, E-Ya Later … you’re welcome Chris Pirillo lol.

Blog Monday 11th October 2010 – Got the 4, Reunion and Well that were crap!

Since my last visit to you campers, well quite a bits happened so err… lets get to it then shall we!

iPhone 4
Well, in my last post I was talking about what deal to get with the iPhone 4, and well, now I kinda have one so lets get in to that shall we. The first day of October I spent on a train going to my “LOCAL” Apple Store, if you call two long trains and a bus local. I ordered a SIM Free iPhone 4 32GB online, I actually went in Google and searched for reserve and well did! When I got to the store they actually funnily enough didn’t even know how I’d done it as they stopped pre-ordering weeks ago, oh well, still got it so I’m happy of course. I also got an iPhone 4 dock, which many think is a waste of money, but I really do use them rather regularly, and seen as I’ve no intention getting a case it’ll lower the chance of possible scratches, which is swell. Yes, I haven’t had a case on the iPhone 4 and had it well over a week now and can clearly say I’ve had absolutely no issues with reception (Vodafone UK). I have to say though I’ve been more than happy with the iPhone 4, haven’t had a single headache, its a real fantastic phone, it even gets girls to sit next to ya, more on that later! The battery life is insane, I tried my best to drain it through an 8AM – 3AM day, yeah, long day, and it still had 24% juice. Everything is just great, camera, performance, design, its as I put in my review, perfect! The contrast of what I’ve been saying about that bluddy Android phone I’ve got compared to this is just amazing! Its not that I think Android is sh*t, its just that its completely sh*t now, but I do think that will change in the future, but the way the iPhone 4s going, its quite the thing to catch up to, especially when in the UK, the iPhone 4 works on every single network! So, yeah loving the iPhone 4.

Reunion with old friends, and bump in to another … you can’t write this stuff … hang on!
I don’t normally go out on Fridays, unless I’m purchasing an iPhone 4, but I was very happy to recieve a phone call from my iPhone 4 WHILST HOLDING IT WITH MY LEFT HAND IN THE DEATH GRIP (such rubbish I tell ya) from Nathan Chalmers. Hadn’t seen him in … well, since school, so nice to catch up, and nice that he kept his promise when I bumped in to him on the bus. Had a blast to be honest, after setting up my Grandma’s new HD TV (yeah I know, techy!), I was straight there. There was also Ben Yates, now Ben I haven’t seen for bluddy years, we probably would of been reunited in Year 9 if we didn’t get put in alternate sets, so haven’t seen Ben Yates really since I was in Year 4, kricky! We had a few pints of catching up, most of which I didn’t pay for which was an even bigger bonus, always happens that when you actually can afford to pay, just you wait next time when I’m skint. So yeah, made a few random videos that I uploaded to their own YouTube channel through my iPhone, don’t even ask what they were doing, bluddy hilarious though.
Now this is gonna get confusing, whilst hanging around with Ben Y, Nathan and his girlfriend, I bumped in to Ben Hunter, I KNOW … … three Bens. No I was rather shocked to see him to be honest, very quick howdy doody then buy as we kinda was with our own crowd, but yeah there ya go!
But overall I really enjoyed catching up with them lot so err swell.
Oh and sticking to a more recent note, Nathan you’re attempt on phone pranking this morning was quite frankly dreadful, it was so obviously you, made my morning just to hear the silence when I replied to your attempted disguised voice “hello Nathan”!

Grandma’s Birthday =/= Rob’s Leaving Do!
For reasons which became apparent recently Rob suddenly was leaving the Charnwood, his work for years now, and moving on to a new job, which of course meant a leaving do, which we we’re all invited to. Unfortunately this kinda was on exactly the same day we’d planned a little do for my Grandma’s birthday, which kinda just meant I was later thats all. Anyway, I have to say whilst I was excited for a rock ‘n’ roll night, with the knowledge that Kai, Caddy and Grandad Lee would be there, I was incredibly disappointed with the (cough) entertainment that followed. For starters, Kai wasn’t their, but the biggest disappointment was it wasn’t really a do, it was just a bunch of people squashed around a small bar talking about history whilst what was now Caddy, Grandad Lee and me, were just sat bord out of a tree. I think it all started to get pointless being there when Caddy left, seriously I was about 3 seconds from leaving, it was utterly boring. I’ve never really liked the Charnwood lot, apologise will not be sent if you’re reading this, I was expecting Rob’s leaving do, bit of a woah-hoo, whilst having a laugh with the lads in the corner. So yeah, safe to say I didn’t enjoy it. Although as we all agreed when Rob pointed her out (whoever she is), the randomer in blue was rather good looking, only rather though, although compared with her surroundings she was the most beautiful thing in the world.
The night, eventually ended and me and Grandad got dropped off in Cleck as we fancied some sh*tty chips, the chips you only enjoy when you’ve had a few pints, I was becoming quite a regular at the place, especially when I’d only been there the previous night ordering the same thing. Reflected on the night, then went home. So, yeah, Grandma’s low-key do = Not bad quite a laugh. Rob’s leaving do = Utter sh*t.
Just noticed I’m swearing quite alot, no I hope he enjoyed it but seriously inviting us, as in Kai, Grandad and Caddy oh and me, was rather pointless as we were left out throughout the night, and when a twat spat in my beer that just settled it.

Ought Else
Yeah actually. You know when your on a bus and you’re alone on a seat, meaning there is one seat left, which leads to people eventually if it gets busy having to sit next to you. Its always weird and awkward when someone sits next to you when there’s other places available isn’t it, and its always an old woman, ugly person or someone that absolutely reeks so bad you go noticeably pale. But hey, listen to this. Today, the bus had plenty of seats, even full rows behind me, but an absolutely beautiful lass got on the bus and sat next to me, I was like WAAATTT, it was also funny to see a chav who thought he was the best thing on the planet do the same thing. Yeah, how bout that, the magic of an Apple product. I almost wished I didn’t have to get off at the next stop, left with a smile from her and left the bus to College. Always awkward to leave a bus when a part of your bodies larger than normally when your entering College, say no more … you would though!

Anyway, on that incredible revelation, I’ll E-Ya Later, until next time!

Blog Friday 5th and 6th November 2010 – Holidays, College, Trips Out, Data and more!

I really need to start keeping up my blogs, been nearly a month ouch! Coming up in this blog, yes we are now a TV show, week holiday, which in itself I catch up with an another old friend, Mt Desolation and ooh so much more!

So, lets get to it. Before I start I must say what I’m changing in my blogs, my blogs like this one (may) have/has two sections, one for Life and one Other, life for life, Other for tech stuff and more, so yeah!

LIFE

Holidays
Well, week holidays, woo, a million miles of activity should be going off right. Well, kinda not really. To be honest I’ve been spending most of my months adding music videos to RKUK Media, but something did happen in the holidays which put a nice smile on my face, a nice catch up with an old friend, Diza. You might remember a few months back, we’re talking May/June time here, I caught up with James Hodgson, who I hadn’t seen for ages, and to be honest haven’t seen since due to that thing that everyone seems to do, the “see you soon mate/gimmie ya number I’ll call you” scenario … no you won’t basically. But anyway, Diza is his sister, who I did not fancy to bits when I knew her in school, cough triple cough lol. Now I didn’t really obviously get to know her as much as James as I was more James’ friend back in school, but enough to know she’s pretty awesome, my type of person, random and all-in-all awesome. So, we had a bit of a catch up on the Thursday before the holidays (holiday started early, mention later), then saw her in Dews the day after, although annoyingly it was in passing in a hurry. Unfortunately since then haven’t seen her in person, we’ll have to arrange because we seem to get on so well and I just love her man. So, yeah, Diza, lovely! I would be lying if I didn’t censor some of that.

College
As I kinda mentioned above, I finished for the week holiday a bit earlier, that was due to something that went on that apparently will go on another 2 times this year, review week, essentially the same as review day, but in a week, although still has the same concept just the fact that they randomly just cancel all lessons in a week, I know, its really bad. So yeah, kinda finished for the holidays, dinner time on Wednesday before, so week and half holidays it became. To be honest thats all I didn’t mention since the last blog, yeah nought really happened since my last blog College wise.

The most Pointless Trip ever
This week I came back to College from the well needed holidays, if I may say so myself. But one thing that did annoy me is interrupting my schedule, Wednesday and Fridays are my days off and they always interrupt them, but this time it was just ridiculous. I spent my day off traveling to Hudd on two buses, get lost and start running for an Award Ceremony! The very small excitement that may have started for me when you read that out really should stop right now as I went and ended up getting incredibly bored and picking up an empty sheet of paper as recognition for going and I actually will have to wait for a certificate for something in a way I’d no choice but to do, and which no one failed. So yeah, starting at 10AM, arriving home about 4:30PM for lets face it no reason, great. Although I did for the probably 3rd time this month see Richard Whittaker, who claimed when he was in bullsh** mode say he lived in the US and was a millionaire, YYEEAAHH! Love finding out people are bullsh**ers, AHH-HAA!

The most AAARGHH Trip ever
And we reach the present. Today I spent going to IKEA, which I actually had a bit of a laugh with to be honest, went with Grandad Lee and Caddy, and when I was over the fact they’d woke me up it was kinda fun to be honest. We went to Birstall Retail Park, and I there failed by test, if I could not have McDs in a week by having some, although getting there Caddy did the most incredible and fantastic fall ever, although when we got to McDs he was actually bleeding all over so we kinda felt a bit harsh for laughing our eyes out but hey, I think he’s lying to say he wouldn’t of done the same to me or Lee. Then, we pondered on to IKEA, where after looking around, having 4 IKEA Hot Dogs, why I don’t know, probably because they were the best piece of plastic I’ve ever had, left with 4 Stools. Now, these are for Grandad Lees awesome bar, but carrying them home through 2 buses is quite awkward to say the least, but fun never the less. Then got home just in time for the week end reward, some nice chippies!

OTHER

iPhone 4 Data Test
When I purchased my iPhone 4 (SIM FREE) I decided to continue my Vodafone SIM I got my terrible HTC Desire, terrible when I discovered how bad Android is. Anyway, I had 500MB of data usage each month for my iPhone, and well, is that enough. Well, I can say after using my iPhone 4 36 days I’ve used up 240MB, so quick answer, yes. In that time I’ve uploaded a YouTube video (on 3G), updated FaceBook/Twitter regularly, e-mail and quite abit of internet use, and of course watched a view videos. So, in a nutshell, its enough.

Well, thats it, I’ll be back to more regular blogs now, even though I said that last time this time I really will be, trust me!

Blog Friday 17th September 2010 – End of Hols = Last Minute Trip + New Timetable

Well hasn’t this been a wait. In light of all the excitement going off during the holidays we’re finally back to a prompt due schedule, be it a new one, but the whole mo jo is still the same.

September So Far!
September has been a rather interesting month so far, quite some things have happened, I’ve ventured off on an unexpected trip, heard about having a second, and the usual banta of having a holiday of course.

Unexpected Venture, well holiday!
Well, whilst on multiple trips out with Rob and co I learned about their trip to holidaying out, well this one in particularly ended with me with a train ticket to go their! The holiday itself, be it in Bridlington, was actually something I wasn’t too sure about, wasn’t sure whether to bother or not, but hey paid for ticket now, so kinda have to. So, we’ll see how it goes.
Anyway, the Saturday arrived to set off and, obviously I did, set off on my own unexpected epic journey of traveling on 1 bus and 2 trains. Be it the first time I’d taken such a major trip, as in length and due time, rather nervous but made it, rather annoyed about my 40 minute wait in Hull, which I thought I’d occupy by walking in to Hull and looking at the iPhone 4 deals, but NO every phone shop was closed, whilst pretty much all shops were closed their still was a suspicious amount of people around, hmm!
Arrival
When I arrived in natural train time, which is actually bang on time, eat that bus services … yeah told them. Any way, few minute wait and was greeted by Rob and Helen, why I named them in that sentence in some random fatal case that it wasn’t them and this was some sort of trick by an Egyptian man to kill me! … … Well! So, yeah, after that we went to the massive nearby, very convenient Tesco, then went round “Night Bridlington”, wooo! Got a pint at the local Weatherspoons, yes I know, they are everywhere! Got an Hot Dog, which was bluddy lovely, then after a tour round Night Brid, went to the area of residents.
I have to say I was rather impressed with the place they’d got for Brid, which was a house rather than a Caravan, less Beach house more Farm house, but had had some work on it so it was pretty good. One of the rather good additions to the place was indeed the highlight, a hot tub, jacuzzi thing! Two words that mean more or less the same thing, everytime I mentioned it I had to chose in my mind what I was going to call it that time, but hey, enjoyed using the Hot jacuzzi Tub.
Day Out, and then … Out, shoo!
The next day, after spending the night in a surprisingly large bed, we headed in to “Day Bridlington”, I must stress for foreigners that these are not two places. Anyway, got some doughnuts, the iPhone info I wanted to get in Hull on the way their, and then went on two rides, Twister and the one where you get very wet, unless your Rob and sit in the back.
Then, before you knew it, the day had past, had a pint finale headed back on what was to be the journey back.
Un-Arrival … leaving then … shuttup!
The way back was a lot more troublesome than going to be honest, as the reason I had to go back was the same reason alot more people had to go back, jobs and education. Despite been stood up on the longest of the two trains I had to take, then having to take a bus which takes longer in which diverts you on to another bus making the journey last 5 hours, it wasn’t that much of a troubling journey! … Yeah! From tea time to pitch darkness my journey took me. Come on guys turn on the epic music.
No, in all seriousness had a good time, which is very very swell!

College and ought Else!
The day after my journey back from my … journey, was to College, oh joysee joy. After finishing a week of the new timetable I have to say its pretty much the same as last year, so like last year I will not bore you with the info, longstory short, 2 rather than 1 day off on Wednesday and Friday, which is why I’m in a better mood today, so overall, very good.
As for anything else, well saw Grandad Lee and Kai a few days after, which was a pretty good night, especially as Grandad on Wednesday took my trip to see Rob as well in Brid.

But that leaves us at point nemo. Obviously as we’re no longer in the hols, more things’ll happen, meaning mroe regular blogage! ooo goody.

But for now, E-Ya Later

Blog Friday 25th June 2010 – I've gotta stop doing this!

So, whats happened in a month, well turns out quite a bloody lot and I have decided in my laziness to make it painful to write a long blog, ugh.
Oh well, we must move on. Tell you what I’ll section it out, make it a lot more easier that I think.

College
Well College was stressing two weeks ago as my College tutor decided, ya know what we’re gonna finish this Friday, this is 30 minutes left on that Friday! Gee, thanks. So, me and many others got passes where they could have got merits, and merits where possible distinctions could of lied, ooo how I love pakis. “Hey, Ben thats racist”, yeah funny how its racist our way but not theirs, that is true racism. But hey, nothing else to say about College now, I’ve finished for the extremely long holiday ahead early and did eventually succeeded in finishing my course in time … just.
Took an attempt of the Maths test this week as well, hopefully passed, oh! and thats another thing. How come, for one I’m the only white in the class, and two that everyone has had 3 attempts and I’m on my first, seriously we live in a broken Britain. Anyway, enough about College, things like this just stress me out, especially not getting EMA because of a Funeral, I mean thats just sick, the government should be ashamed.

HTC Desire and the Whole eBay Thing!
Now, as you know I can’t stand the HTC Desire that I was forced to buy from the Carphone Warehouse, seriously never go there, they’d bought it before I even said I wanted it. It and Android are just terrible, even Google’s Eric Shmit, which I guarantee I’ve spelt wrong there, said Android isn’t good yet.
Anyway, being trying to sell it on eBay, Brand New even has VOID stickers on the box, but with an 8GB microSD rather than the 4GB standard. Got hacked 12 times IN A ROW!!! on eBay, all purchases asking to ship to Nigeria, then suddenly an e-mail from eBay “Suspicious Bidder Alert”. All I’m gonna say is if anyones actually fallen for these they are completely stupid as its obvious, soooooo obvious. I’m new to PayPal but I saw through that, especially when on the iPhone OS if you tap the so-called e-mail address it will show you the address their using to essentially hack you, plus there’s a space or symbol in the address, which you can’t have in an e-mail address making it OBVIOUS!
Anyway gonna try selling it through my mates 100% Possitive Feedback eBay Account, and block users that don’t have positive feedback, that way if we’ve a bidder, it will be a genuine purchase! Getting bloody fed-up of this!

iPhone 4

I know I wrote an entire blog about it, but yes the iPhone 4 is out and it is indeed awesome and yes I will be getting one, eventually, and for a lot less than you’d expect, more on that in my next blog after this, see what I did their, tapping you to view more hehe! Anyway, yeah I’ll be talking about the best UK deal on the phone and more up-to-date info on the phone, so yeah look out for that blog!

Our Big Dr Who Production
This weeks just been in general a stressful week, as you know by randomly finishing early last week did mean I could make it to the Dr Who Production by us, script read through, or so I thought. Yeah, turned out hardly anyone turned up, and when one of the lead characters doesn’t even turn up then you know you’ve got issues, so if this continues we’ll have to make a replacement, oh yeah, anyone can be replaced, don’t ever think because your a quote on quote “main character” you’re not replaceable!
Yeah, so quite annoyed about that, well, no more than the other Ben who arranged the whole thing, so yeah! Hopefully we’ll get some extra stuff done through the hols such as of course the big trip out to those arranged locations, time will tell.

World Cup
Now, I’m not much of a Football guy, I don’t even support England that much, why? Probably because we suck, I mean come on we drew against the USA, a country that know nothing about Football, they don’t even call it Football, they call it Soccer as Football in the US is basically an overhyped version of Rugby. Well, here we are so far anyway.
ENG 1 – 1 USA
ENG 0 – 0 ALG
ENG 1 – 0 SLV
And now we’re pretty much likely to be out after this one;
ENG vs GER. The World Cup is turning in to bloody WW2.

Ought Else…
Tell you what was interesting, this week as I was leaving College on the Monday after checking I’d finished my course, I bumped in to James H, haven’t seen him in centuries (slight exaggeration) we ended up having a trip round Leeds, wasn’t a bad way to finish the day, rather good!
Oh, and I saw the first episode of the new series of The IT Crowd early, even though its on tonight on Channel 4, 4OD had it exclusively, it rocks, can’t wait for the rest of the series.
Apart from that we haven’t really done much, but hey expect more regular blogs in the coming future alots happening as it the hols, kinda starting tomorrow with Heather’s birthday, yeah!! So yeah, rock on, and err…

E-Ya Later

Blog Thursday 27th May 2010

Yes its time for another one, been another … while, although 10 years is longer than I usually wait. No, of course as usual, the reason I’ve delayed blogs is because I’m busy *cough, see, now I used stars for sarcasm, ooooo! Well, it’s a week off next week so alls good, right? Are you with me!!! Don’t know why I’m acting like I’m on a gig or something.

Night Out … finally!
Gee, and I didn’t think I was a drunk. Yes, last Saturday was the first time in quite sometime that their was a night out, and quite a night it was too. Met quite a few people, more than I’m usually comfortable with, but hey I discovered something throughout the night, as long as you have some alcohol in your lungs <
Like most nights out I completely forget everything that happened but where we went. We started at our loyal meeting pub, then finished at Punch Bowl, simple. Some were going to go to Dewsbury, but I declined, for one I’m fed up of seeing Dewsbury, and two I don’t want to return to a club where I was last almost stripped by some weird freaky men, yeah quite put off there! Well, as the night got to the end, and I was happy due to the supply of Bacon Fries, we all went home. But had a good night overall, I’ve recently been hypnotised by Baby Cookie so I was doing that voice mostly throughout the night, like ya do! But no, good night, met some peoples of awesomeness, but we never did karaoke liek we were promised, oh well, we all have to make sacrifices sometimes!

College
Nothing much in the world of College news, apart from the fact that I’ve finished 4 of the 6 assignments already this year, which is nice, at this rate I’ll be home earlier than planned, which is nice!!! The only thing I’m worried about is the EMA bonus that the new LibCon government said they are bannishing, hopefully not until next year as its the first time I actually need ti, either that or if my idiotic asian tutor doesn’t reject me for no reason even he can’t even think off.

HTC Desireable … not quite!
As you know I recently made the switch to Android with the best Android device you can get, the HTC Desire, which as I said in my review is a Nexus One plus more RAM and features. But, I absolutely cannot stand ANYTHING about Android, it looks and is the rubbishest thing I’ve seen since I had a Nokia 3210 which is bad. Unfortunately I now need to end my 18month started contract after less than 2 months (2 months next week), but after ringing up Vodafone today it will cost £411 to end, which is actually lower than I thought, the contract based on length left would cost £580, so a nice reduction there, plus the amount I need to pay is £11 more than how much I’m going to sell the Desire anyway, so all should go well … . Guess I’ll go back to the company that is now suppassed Microsoft to be the biggest tech company ever, Apple and their soon to be released iPhone. Never leave something you’ve full faith in I guess the lesson is, oh and Google can’t make anything.

What? Thats it, I want a refund!!!
What you talking about Willis, you don’t pay anything. Anyway, yeah, but seen as a week holidays coming up soon I’ll have more blogs able to be added and what not, yeah!

Blog Monday 4th January 2010 – First Blog of 2010

Welcome to my first blog of 2010. Since my last blog, Christmas has happened, my less than epic new year celebration and my first day of College … kinda.

Christmas
Christmas Day was always going to be a bit less of a Christmas Day based on the fact this is the first year I’m not getting something big for Christmas, but I actually still had a sack full. I got 5 deodorant sets, OK gonna take the hint, that was quite offensive, although at the same time I was running out, some clothing and some shoes, oh and of course some chocolates. My main present was my Apple Care for my MacBook which was happily very easy to install, insert disc, load site link, enter box code and Mac serial number, WA-LAH! It also comes with a piece of software called ‘TechTools Deluxe’, which checks and diagnoses any hardware problems, which is always useful to have, might as well install that once the disc is in, part from that, once you’ve done that you probably literally will never need that disc ever again, seriously. And that was it really, part from some boring Christmas Dinners which is to be expected.

New Year
New Year in my opinion is the most pointless celebrated thing ever, woopty-du, a new year. So, as you can imagine I never really pull out the stops throughout the countdown, in fact I didn’t pull out any stops, although I did do something which is quite extraordinarily awesome, I’ve added all the YouTube videos from RKUK Entertainment to RKUK Media, but no not a boring embed to experience the bad YouTube player on another site, oh no, you can use our player, nice!

First Day of College … kinda
Well, today, being Monday, was the first day of College. I actually woke up rather well this morning considering the fact its a Monday and I’d a full day ahead of me, but oh well. I was surprised how warm it was, then I realised it was still inside, outside it was -5ºc, which is quite cold y’know. After I found my things I set off. Have to admit I have been missing my music listening on the bus, my music listening, ie through earphones, not normal bus noise that just makes you sick. Anyway, arrived at College, did the 50/50 guess to which of the only two rooms I ever go in for College, then found out that we weren’t going in that room because the heating wasn’t working in certain rooms and we maybe going home. Talk about giving us hope, we were then sent in to what was apparently a heated room, yeah right, then in an hours time, we were sent home, so at 10:20 (ish) I was on the bus home, this was after heading to Dewsbury to get a months pass, oh and check if anywhere in Dewsbury sell Bacon Fries, its my new obsession, why, cause they are for whatever reason, rare!
But that was it for my first day at College, hopefully the rest of this term are like this, as I hate College, I’d rather work from home to be honest anyway!

Selection DVDs
Oh and I’m going to be filling in the gaps in 2010 to put all the rest of the older Selection DVDs on RKUK Media, April is the expected finishing time, so far, as of this blog, 1-21, 27, 28, 29, 59 – present are currently on, we’re filling in the gaps. Selections 20 – 26 are to be done this week, 20 and 21 have been done so far.

Anything Else…
Er.. No.

Well thats it for now, E-Ya Later

Blog Thursday 19th November 2009 – 4oD on YouTube, Weird College Room and more!!!

It’s Thursday, my day off which usually would be the case but for the first time ever in ICT I’ve got homework, I know, I’m thinking of consulting parliament, this is terrible, this is, WAAT, this is, oh my! So, yeh quite annoyed about that! I was also woken up by a drill noise, but the advantage is, we now have a shower, maybe I should explain. Basically our shower has been, for some reason, rubbish, we’ve been having cold showers, but we’ve now got a new one. Unfortunately it didn’t work at first, so this entire week has been spent, fixing the … electric thing …. arrghh forgot what you call it, but yeh, then replaced the shower and now we’re good to go!
Anyway, back to the blog, well one thing I’ve seen two classic TV adverts which basically mean it’s Christmas, the old classic ToysRUs ad is actually on as I’m typing this, ya know the one, the one with the cheasy song, that and, the big one, THE COCA COLA AD! Oh yes, the Cola ad, if that doesn’t come on, its not Christmas.
I have to say though, since my last blog, its all happened on RKUK, but nought really in lifely-hood, except on Wednesday when I had my last lesson, for whatever reason we’re not in the room we normally are, which not only was an opportunity to go into another College Centre, but not all was good, basically we ended up in the most freaky looking room, they were toy dinosaurs, communist babies and everything, basically it was meant for about 10 year olds at the maximum, which kinda made it fun, no one did anything and theirs a cool guy whos only in that lesson whos pretty funny, which is a bonus.
But thats all for me so far, so some RKUK news below!

RKUK Toolbar Update
RKUK have released an update for the RKUK Toolbar, the update basically consists on some e-mail security updates and now has Ask, Yahoo! and Dogpile. To update the toolbar, go to the RKUK Menu on the toolbar, the drop down to the right of the RKUK logo, and click ‘Refresh Toolbar’, the toolbar will blink and you’ll have new searches, so yeh!

Video Uploads are coming back!
Just a quick announcement to know that Video Uploads are back on RKUK Media for all members. To upload a video, well, click Add a Video. Or click Upload Video in the tab on Videos. The Video button on top of the … thing now links to all Videos rather than RKUK Entertainment after requests, RKUK Entertainment is now in the top drop-down tab.

Well, thats it for now, E-Ya Later… I guess, WOW that was a poor ending.

Blog Saturday 26th September 2009 – 2 Weeks of College, IKEA Trolley, Selection 74 and more!

Can you believe its nearly an entire month since I did a personal blog, I’m telling ya that is a record, something which I think needs to stop now, one, so it’ll be easy to beat it again! No, not really, but ya know, its been a while! Since my previous blog I’ve been chased by a trolley whilst visiting IKEA, I’ve started my college course and just ended the second week and, no thats about it!
To be honest that is why I haven’t had a blog for a long time, basically because where at that time of year again, the uneventful time, last year I had a lot to talk about in college and stuff as it was my first real experience out-of-school life, but now its kinda the same and rather uneventful to be honest, which lets face it, isn’t that fun!

College Life
College this year has been completely different, in a good way … kinda, in a bad way … also kinda! No, to be honest its kinda been alright to be honest, the course is at its peak so nothing is happening at the moment, but may I just say that merging Dewsbury and Huddersfield into Kirkless College has been possibly the worst decision thats ever been made, seriously every single thing has become around 90% worst, seriously, to start with, the PCs, whilst they are PCs last year they performed to par last year, now they’re connected to the sh**est network ever, which in turn makes all the computers unresponsive and laggy, which is just brilliant eh! So, first things first, get rid of that merge, their ya go, I’ve fixed the issue!

IKEA – The Chase
Well, like we always do, but this time with the addition of Ben, me and Rob went, sorry, walked to IKEA again, which if ya don’t know is what anyone would consider a car journey away from where I live, to be honest I was rather happy to be honest we had quite a laugh which got more unusual when we first, almost got locked in a petrol station and after having a bit of fun with a Shopping trolley, then got chased by it, yes you read right, me, Rob and Ben have been chased by a shopping trolley, quite something to tell the grandkids yes! Then found out IKEA was closed, so walked home where we got shouted by drunks and saw a dead cat, so yeh, quite a usual night out then!

Oh, and Selection 74 is out, I struggled to get Mr Hudson song, so I had to do a deal with Mercury Records which was kinda strange!

Well, lets hope it gets a bit more eventful in the coming days!
That’s all for now folkeys <<What?, anyway, E-Ya Later!
