OK, it might have been quite a while since my last blog, but my god it hasn’t half all happened. Not only have I lost my course place due to the most stupidest of excuses ever, undergone complaints to get it back and ugh so much more, I’ll get into that later. But I’ve we’ve also lost one of our group. Also probably some of the worse yet oddly possible chat up lines, oh the lolz on that one! As well as more house hang outs, dinner parties, and well, more!
In my last blog I mentioned how I’ve pretty much been doing nought but going to Grandad Lees house, which don’t get me wrong has been awesome, and yes the madness continues. Performed some more music, which is always epic. Watched some more Celebrity Deathmatch, still the only good thing on MTV, we watched the awesome Robert De Niro with the ‘what’s a matter you’ Italian part. We watched the Charlie Sheen one as well, which lead to some pretty awful chat up lines, such as the amazing “wow, you must be tired, cos you’ve been running through my mind all day” and the amazing “Excuse me, can I have you’re number, I’ve lost mine!”. Oh ho that’s the guud stuff! Also “are you from the Caribbean, cos you’re Jamaican me crazy!”, for some reason I have to say that in an accent, still awesome thought!
This week has started interesting anyway, on Monday I ended up getting some brew down myself and ended up hanging round with Lee, Rob as well as some of Robs work mates, which ended up leading to getting rather …. bamboozled, let’s just say. Accidentally, well kinda deliberately spilt an entire pint all over Rob, which if anything was amusing! Was it deliberate Ben … well as much as I’d love to say it was, and how it would be pretty epic, it was an accident, sorry! Anywho, Rob, Grandad Lee … Rob again, his twin and a lass called Lorna and I had quite an interesting night to say the least.
After been out quite a while, they were all on about going to Robs house for a few (The new Rob) which I was against at first as I was feeling pretty tired and in all fairness had to get up in morning, more on that later, but all was well. Had a few laughs, not bad folk to be honest, hopefully Rob doesn’t poison them like he has to us and ruin their lives lol. One thing we all agreed on by the end of the night was if we ever had to sort Rob and the new Rob out, we’d just call Rob, nob ed, and the other just Rob, works out easy, and everyone knows which ones which lol. But yeah, interesting night, spent more than I wanted to, but what can you do eh!
As you may or may not know, after completing my previous course at College I applied for a HE course (Higher Education) at the same centre. The course I applied for had a few additional advantages over doing it somewhere else, notably the only 2 day weeks, leaving time for a part time job for example, and the much lower tuition fees in comparison to Universities. Anyway, applied for the course, did the amazingly easy to use (pfft lol) UCAS system to apply for it, and during the holidays got a yes from both UCAS and the centre itself that the course was as good as mine. Anyway, after receiving a letter for the enrolment day, I turn up only to be pretty much turned away from the course tutor who, in her opinion, thought I was not ready for the course, I know! Anyway, obviously quite shocked by the new development, it turned out that she had been trying to contact me over the holidays to let me know about some new conditions … we got nothing by the way, but she claimed that all she got was an answer machine and doesn’t leave messages, which is quite frankly ridiculous. So, at the end of the day I’d no choice but to go home. I rang in to College to ask to talk to her and somehow persuade her to change her mind, thinking I was in the wrong somehow and/or thus circumstances happen often, but it wasn’t until I got some Careers help until I realised that wasn’t the case. The following week I went to see someone for some advise, basically to get some quick advise as next step was pretty much going to have to be a job, as it was waaay too late to apply elsewhere like she suggested at College.
Anyway, I went to visit a Careers advisor who quite frankly after hearing what had happened to me, couldn’t even believe what I was telling her and got some very interesting developments out of that visit. Not only had the College gone against its contract for denying a student entry in to a course after receiving a written confirmation, there was also some legal complications, ooo it had it all. I have to right now thank that Careers women, she was incredible and told College a thing or too over phone, I was like …. sh** lol, she was so demanding and controlling over phone.
Long story brought short, I was later contacted by the top dogs at College basically explaining due to the circumstances if I still wanted the course it was not in their rights to stop me enrolling and going on the course … funny how some people change their minds suddenly isn’t it. Anyway, I’m on now, we’ll see how this year goes won’t we.
It makes you think though doesn’t it, if I’d of done nothing they’d of got away with that, I truly believe they thought I was just gonna walk away, I couldn’t do that, if anything, due to how late they denied me entry I’d of been f***ed anyway. So there you go, learned a lesson their, never accept a no, fight for your position.
So, if the stress of the problems with College wasn’t enough, on the morning I was awaiting a phone call from College about what the situation was on enrolling again, on Thursday 15th September, I’ll remember that date for two reasons now, I awoke to find my Dad said down looking in no way ready for work, which he would of been at that time, and a back door with no key hole anymore … well there was a hole, but no key placement at all. They didn’t get in, which was probably due to the technique you had to use to open the door as it was f***ed, but the one thing that would of stopped them even if the door was in working order was our jammers. Can’t remember why or when we first got the jammers, just some strong additional locking for the inside, we’ve got them on both the front and the back door and they saved anyone getting in, so yeah, can’t not recommend them enough. The Police think they were after car keys to steal the car, either way, who knows what they wanted, all we know is, they didn’t get ought. AND, where was Colin in all of this lol. It was the same day I went to College for my second enrolment which actually led to me getting on the course, at 3PM. We got the door fixed the day after on Friday, got a College timetable to start the following Monday and yeah, that was that.
If I’m glad about one thing, its that the attempted burglary didn’t happen the week after lol. But hey, one day after the door was fixed, everyone was off on holiday, and I mean everyone this time, both sisters and partners, Mum, Dad, the lot, thank you! This meant a whole week of purely no distractions and enjoyment. Things kinda kicked of instantly on the week off with a dinner party.
Arranged fully literally the previous day whilst at the duck at Grandad Lees, me and the crew were gonna have a dinner party. It was originally going to be filmed as a kinda ‘Come Dine With Me’ spoof, but that never happened, which I can’t say I cared about really. The day started with some preporations, purchased some more supplied of food for the event and brought them back to my house. The day didn’t kick off to a great start when I got a phone call saying Kai and Jess couldn’t make it which was a big let down to say the least, and was incredibly relieved when they changed their mind to come. So, it was me, Rob, Grandad Lee, Kai and Jess all facing my amazing cuisine.
The rest of the night was great, Jess appreciated lets just say, my shirt and tie, I thought why not really lol. I’ve been trying out Windows 8 on the iMac on Boot Camp which Rob had a look at and tried getting on his crappy netbook. Then, we all had Scones whilst watching Craig Ferguson’s ‘A Wee Bit O Revolution’. The night was a success I thought as I did the look you do sometimes whilst hosting a night, looked around saw everyone laughing … OK it was at the stand up show, but ya know, the night felt a success. ….. or so I thought, we’ll get on to that later, don’t want to ruin my mood typing this. Anyway, when Rob, Kai and Jess had gone for reason we’ll get on to later as I said. Me and Lee decided to look through some things online, why not eh. We ended up watching some comedy to kinda cheer us up from what had happened, then spoke about that needed to be done. Aside from that, the night was great, thanks to those who turned up.
On Monday(?), Rob and Lee came down, mainly for some laughs, Rob apologised for the Dinner Parties rough ending lets just say, yeeahh! I decided to forget about it for the night. Had a laugh, few drinks which led to watching some of the worst songs ever in music video form on YouTube … which then led to the weirdest craze. We ended up watching Disney music in different languages, yep! It was pretty awesome to be honest. Then, Rob had to go due to work in the morning, then me and Lee continued finding weird random content like we always do, and that was that.
It was sad that I had to go to College on a home alone week, and was quite nervous going their to be honest based on all that happened, but you know something, it wasn’t that bad to be honest. I know its only the first week, but had a pretty ok week to be honest. Ended up going to Leeds Uni on the Friday as whilst I’m no actually at Leeds Uni, I am a student based on the fact my College is partnered with them and I’m doing a HE course. Either way, quite a boring day, but hey, gonna get a Leeds Met card so I can use their facilities if I want, even if I never go their it gives me a nice Apple Store discount lol.
It had been a while since I’d last visited my Grandma and Grandad and I was pleasantly surprised when I got a phone call from my Grandma on Tuesday asking if I wanted to go to theirs for tea sometime in the week, to which I said I’d come the next day. And the next day after retuning all the TVs thanks to the big Digital Switch Over in the UK, I went and had tea at my Grandmas & Grandads. It wasn’t nice I’m sorry to say lol, didn’t say that obviously, but hey. It was very nice to see them anyway, ended up watching Midsomer Murders, phworr lol, then went home. I ended up going as well the next day, last Thursday, and happily had a lovely tea, had some bluddy lovely Yorkshire Pudding. Then after a few laughs about not been able to use an electric Salt dispenser, we watched some Billy Connoly on TV, love that guy. Unfortunately due to going to Leeds Met on the Friday I couldn’t come the next day, but they were just happy I’d come over as was I to be honest, I was great to see them.
Sounds like a crap movie title that lol. But hey, on Friday, after going to Leeds Met and had some lovely chippies, later that night I went out to pub to meet up with Kai for the last time in quite a while. When I arrived their, no one was their which annoyed me abit, the pub was busy and I was a bit late as well, but no one there, I was like … wwwell lol. But had a few walks up and down, then gave him a text, and like everything, as you try to fix something, it fixes itself, there they were. Had a few drinks, which happily they bought most of lol, and just had a really good laugh. Completely forgot the name of the other guy that came and chatted with us for a while, but he seemed pretty awesome, but was soon gone. We left the Wickham which we were at for quite a few, then stopped off at the always last stop, the Spoons. Had a few their, been it Friday it shut later, which was great as the night was going so well to stop at 12, was a shame though when it had to end, mostly as it will be a good while till I see Kai. and I’m not sure about Jess. I told them about seeing Johnny English Reborn, when it comes out in the Cinema, and that we were all planning on going together when it came out, which Jess said she would love to come with us, so we’ll have to arrange that. Well, until next time eh Kai, who knows may see Jess before then, would be nice.
And that was it, my week home alone! Had a really great week (considering the one thing) so thanks to all that made it a really awesome week!
Now, one thing that has been patterning itself throughout this blog has been the dinner party at my house had a one thing we said we’d mention later, well, welcome to later lol. Rob and his girlfriend, if you call it that recently have really been annoying the whole lot of us, plainly because, whatever is wrong with her, or wrong with them, she always has (only recently btw) this absolutely unbearable attitude, and she just turns up to ruin a whole night, it happened on Kai’s original leaving do, which was the main reason I invited Kai to my Dinner Party to try and to a take two, and guess what, she ruined that too. Think we’re all at the moment just thinking Rob get rid of her, he evidently doesn’t like her either recently, we’re all just pissed off at the moment with her, and all of Rob’s quite repetitive crap excuses on why its not over. So, there you go, a rough bitchy end to my blog lol. I think its fair to say I’m not speaking on behalf of just myself here. Now, I’ve had to put up with many friends girlfriends, or boyfriends to some women I know, and if I don’t truly like them I don’t show it and socialise for the friends sake, and I think most people are like this, but we all just can’t take it anymore, so you know what, we’re not!
Anyway, E-Ya Later
Ben
Having not posted anything throughout the month of July you’re probably thinking my god Ben you are just taking the piss in the laws of laziness, well … kinda, but its the holidays so everyone is kinda occupied and of course I’ve been undergoing a massive revamp of the RKUK Media website so things have been a bit hectic but we’ll soldier on.
I know the holiday isn’t over yet but I thought I needed to add a blog basically just to remind people that I’m alive.
This blog is going to be as brief as possible, not only because I want to get this blog over with, and the fact I’ve forgotten alot of things, but because some things I don’t want to talk about too much to be honest.
Damn Crows
When it comes to life in the world of randomness we’ve produced some new epic tracks on the Damn Crows front which is awesome, the songs may not be in everyones mind, but I have to say the songs are getting better everytime, which probably isn’t saying much, but its saying something. I’ve made an interesting decision to cover a song by Mt Desolation as an upcoming B-Side, yeah, thats gonna go well lol. We don’t even know what the next single is gonna be or have any plans yet but it will happen soon, probably.
Love and Hateness
In the world of love and hateness, the last few months have been incredibly up and incredible down soon after, and the cycle has kept itself going on repeat mode. This has probably been a bit hard for me recently and has got me a bit stressed privately, the way I prefer to keep it hence the rather briefness of this blog. We’ve had the ultimate highs, spending time together and expressing love for each other making me the happiest man ever, some fantastic chats, just some of the best times of my entire life. And there’s been lows, which have made me the saddest man ever. This is what love does to you isn’t it. The mood right now is … kinda the middle, but ya know. I’ve noticed everytime I add a blog at good times it somehow jinxes it and something buggers up, so I’ve waited until we’re in a not brilliant time to hope that things look up in the future eh. Knowing my life, logic will notice what I’m doing and fuck it up anyway, but we’ll see.
Ought Else
Everything else has been typical holiday season, waking up late, feeling quite lazy, going oh god do I have to go out now, going out after and still thinking the same, but hey, had a few laughs suppose.
Joined Google+ as well, even though time has passed when they said it would go public and it still hasn’t. Have to say though, a month on, it started with a boom, made records, everyone was wow … but if it doesn’t go public really soon, then it will be forgotten! Even with Google behind it, it will be forgotten if they don’t hurry up. Anywho, my Google+ is here!
Revamped RKUK Media, been a big thing this actually. It took some time, but RKUK Media now looks a whole lot cleaner, content is delivered a whole lot better in my opinion. So RKUK Media is now much better for the visitors, but its also tonnes better for us. One big problem that was heating up on RKUK Media was the cost to run it. We spent way over $200 a year to keep RKUK Media running, thats approaching $20 a month. But, with our new revamp, we switched providers and we’re now paying less than $20 a year, now thats not even 70cents a month, so we’re obviously very happy with this. So to the future of RKUK Media I say.
Also got everything for the coming two years sorted as well, courses successfully applied for, money has been sorted, so everything is looking pretty sorted out at the moment. In fact everything is going pretty alright at the moment in my life, its just a shame that the one thing I would like to be going perfectly never does, but thats just life been its asshole self to me, and whether you believe in it or not, there is not a God in my life, if there is a God, he’s not paying much attention to me. I know that might sound selfish but seriously, some areas of my life have been hell recently and I have really struggled to keep going and put a smile on my face, I’d like to say things are getting better, and in some areas they are, but they are still some things really making me quite sad at the moment which I hope start to lift up soon.
==
Anyway, thats as brief as I can ever go, I will be back to a new schedule of blogs soon, which is gonna be interesting, but until then, thats all for this one. E-Ya Later
Ben
Since my last blog there’s been the holiday which is about to finish, err there’s been many trips out and more amazing musical ventures and more.
Trip to Meadowhall and A Curious Letter
A few weeks now but hey, still before my last blog. Me, Rob, Grandad and Caddy went on a trip to probably the most amazing thing outside of West Yorkshire that I regularly venture to, mostly because it’s the closest Apple Store. Apple for some reason decided to ignore the existence of West Yorkshire, but hey I digress. Whilst they were many conversations along the way, including the never ending nagging at Rob at getting a really crap phone lol, but hey. Went to the Apple Store mainly to check out the new white iPhone 4, which is most definitely thicker than the black one. To which the good ol Grandad Lee popped in to inform us all that he would soon be getting a White iPhone 4, good choice mate, thought you were gonna get somert like a Blackberry lol. The only people I accept to have a Blackberry are either very attractive women or people who have been contracted by a business company to have one. And no Rob falls in to none of those categories. Anyway, one thing that was annoying about going to the Apple Store at Meadowhall when we did was that it was just before Apple Stores 10th birthday when Apple completely revamped them with iPads, grrreaat. Anyway, whilst they had some dinner at some ‘trying to be posh but failing badly apart from the price’ restaurant, I went to McDs, common bloke me and always will be. Informed Rob about my using a Secretariat horse for his big day lol. But hey, an interesting day, atleast it was until we all seemed to be forced out by Rob, much to Lees enjoyment. But hey, the day wasn’t to end there though, we headed to a very raining Leeds for Rob to discover that banks are assholes, I know newsflash! We went to a few pubs, we also went to a pub that we visited on my birthday bash to much of my surprise I ordered a pint and hidden within my change by the rather beautiful barmaid was a advertisement but it had her name on it with a thanks and a kiss, so I was a bit … ya know about that. Unfortunately we didn’t have another there so I couldn’t tell if it was true or not but hey. It was pretty interesting to say the least.
College
College has been really really interesting …. OK it hasn’t but hey. We’ve reached that time of the year where all you’re doing is the same work again to get it perfect, but hey it’s been pretty interesting thanks to the awesome guys there. Aaron managed to walk in to a wall and injured above his left eye, which is hilarious and just speaks for itself to be honest. Met one of Aarons mates who is a combination of American and Polish, I know, a combination of oh and ugh, but hey, not a bad bloke. My motivation for College has been just going for the fun with the friends but that’s changed recently after getting closer to getting the next course sorted out all I kinda want to do now so main focus in this coming week is getting all the remaining courses passed and done and stuff, so yeah, unfortunately I thought this at the end of the hols, so kinda back to rushing, back to Coll tomorrow, but hey. Whatcha gunna do.
The Hols
Whilst the holidays are pretty much over, what can you do eh, some stuff have happened so err yeah.
Over at Caddys
The Friday before the holidays began wasn’t a College day so I successfully woke up err… late and well, ya know. But on Saturday ended up at Caddys which was interesting, especially due to Grandad Lees amazing time keeping, meeting him at quarter to 8 actually meaning quarter to 6, ahh, only Grandad! Kai and Jess joined us for most of the night which always makes it pretty awesome, there was also Flash there, who the last and first time I really saw him it resulted being in a car blurting out SCOOBYDOOBYDUU!!! full blast through a Tesco carpark lol, but hey! It turned out to be very awesome, recorded some pretty amazing stuff for our upcoming debut album lol, and some well, not so amazing stuff, but hey, some pretty epic songs to say the least. Nice to know that the place I always get my chips from knows who I am when I ordered my Chips over the phone they know all about my love of salt, which was pretty epic.
It must be love … right?
Not going to go into too much detail as I think the worst thing I did was tell my friends about the whole meeting up with a little special someone. I’ve always kept relationships anonymous between friends and have regularly lied to friends (sorry guys lol) to go on dates with women, which have all gone very very well …. Lol. But anyway, no one and I mean no one has ever made me feel as emotional as this individual does. It sort of annoyed me when I told everyone that I was meeting up with her last time just as friends and they made it out, well they were just stupid to be honest, but I think that we maybe meeting up for an actual date soon which is overpowering my heart at the moment. I’m scared shitless to be honest about the day we meet up soon, I just hope I don’t fuck it up as she means so much to me, more than anyone ever has, years of waiting and building up to, ohh man! We’ll all see I guess. So nervous, and it’s days a way yet.
Lee gets an iPhone
Dum duh duuuhhh, Grandad Lee has gone away from a conn Orange contract and an old Sony Ericsson to get a White iPhone 4 on Three. Which annoyingly means that I will likely get bugged for a few weeks whilst he learns to use it lol, no, there better than that, the easiest to use smartphone in fact. Only problems he’s been having so far is Three reception, we’ll see how it goes as you’ve got 10 days money back guarantee on a contract so if a network change is required make the decision to change soon rather than been left in a long contract, especially if it’s the network and not the phone.
Ought Else
Well the biggest one is WWDC 201 tomorrow where Apple will definitely introduce iOS5, Mac OSX Lion and the iCloud service, whether they introduce a new iPhone is unknown but unlikely, but we’ll see, only time will tell and a blog will follow.
Another pretty awesome thing I’ve found is an awesome version of Stylo by Gorillaz by a band that actually has Simon Tong in who has actually played live for Gorillaz, and Damons other two bands as well, Blur and The Good The Bad And The Queen.
I’ve likely forgot alot in this blog but hey don’t mind, tell me if I have.
Well that’s all for now, E-Ya Later
Ben
Well it’s been a hectic few days which turned in to weeks, not only has there been an end for my cats life, people getting bones sticking out of their body, this blog not been released on the last Monday date because of so much new shit happening, but on the plus side I’ve got an iPad 2 in which I’m happily writing this on, the keyboard is surprisingly awesome.
iPad 2 – What a device!
As mentioned in previous posts I wanted to purchase the iPad 2 which launched on Friday, whilst it did launch on launch day at many places such as obviously Apple Stores, PC World, Currys, Comet, Argos, HMV, as well as many carrier stores for the 3G model, I still didn’t expect to be able to get one on launch day, but hey, guess what, what?, I’ll tell ya … I got one and bluddy love it.
Getting the iPad 2 was interesting in itself and I did a Twitter feed at #bensliveiblog on the progress of purchasing the device. I planned from day one of getting it from Birstall Retail Park, which is good as it contains 3 of the many areas that sell the iPad 2 virtually next door to each other, I ended up going to Currys PC World, which is the biggest one in Britain, so should have some eh?, still had my doubts. To my surprise there weren’t that many people there, this was 3:20, when it didn’t launch till 5, but hey just over an hour and half! Whilst waiting I got … well I got 3 things, a biscuit, drink of water, and most importantly a piece of paper guaranteeing me “an iPad 2″, why in quotation, well because they couldn’t guarantee which one. I was 30 in line for the iPad and my choice to come in at the time I did payed off as no joke, 10 minutes later the queue had ooo, way over 40, 50 maybe, then as the time approached closer to the 5PM launch time, people were actually getting turned away and told to go at number 70, so with that number I was a bit more confident at getting the model I wanted, the 32GB Black Wi-Fi model. Don’t know about you but I think the White looks bluddy awful, but yeh anyway, actually got it, they had 25 of each model in Wi-Fi and 10 Wi-Fi+3G, I noticed on a checkbox they had to guarantee stock. For whatever reason they didn’t have the 16 and 64 gig White 3G models, why no one said, but hey based on the checkbox, only 3 of the 29 in front of me got the White ones so it’s not just me. Having said that I’ve seen many people online regretting the White one so errr, yeh good luck with that Apple. Anyway, got it home and love it, so yeh, try if you can get an iPad 2. I’ll have a review for it ASAP.
Also on Friday
Getting the iPad 2 was helped actually by Rob, Caddy and Grandad … ish … OK not in many ways, but hey made it a bit more fun, and more expensive thanks to Robs taxi recommendation. Anyway after an unexpected pint at the Hunsworth, we headed off. Whilst I bought my iPad 2 and they decided to well browse other retailers the time eventually arrived when I got the iPad and we headed back to Grandads for a barbecue?, yeh they always go well, but hey. The group grew by 3 at Grandads with Kai, Jess and Helen arriving then we headed off to the Wickham. Had quite a laugh actually, the group grew by 1 more and really had quite a laugh to be honest. Had a chat with Kai and Jess about a new film production should be interesting, always willing to help anyone if possible. It was all going well till we headed for the last place for the night, ze Weatherspoons. Don’t know what happened, not taking sides but I know who’s side I’m on, it basically ruined a nearly perfect night out, Helen through a drink at this guy we were with and well it just lowered the mood of the night and, well just pissed me off really as they were all getting on till some “rumours” got mentioned between someone else, annoying. Anyway, if we take away the last half an hour, a really great night, well, great day to be honest.
All Went Downhill From There
As fun as Friday was, it all begin to sink when Saturday arrived. I went to Argos on Saturday to get my hands on the HDMI cable for the iPad, reserved around and ended up going to Bradford and left after a camp asian Argos staff member went, “OOOOO, NOW YOU CAN USE IT IN TEEEEVEEEE!!!”, to which I made quite a prominent exit.
As I was walking up the street is where it all began to sink a little, I saw 3 neighbours that for one thing never hang out together and two never talk to me, anyway they were all staring at Jack (my oldest legend of a cat) just lying on the ground, first impressions obviously was “oh god he’s dead”, and part of me going, “I wanna try this cable!”, no but seriously he wasn’t looking good, breathing very heavily and couldn’t seem to get up, anyway rung people up and what not, then the cheeky bastard got up and went inside, I KNOWW!!!, but he wasn’t himself. Anyway got him some food and he kinda eat it, so we let him be when he rested in his usual spot. Side note, the HDMI cable is fabulous, just not on a crap Sharp TV that we have in the living room, likely going back to the shop soon.
Sunday, a week now, was probably the worst day in 2011, got woke up at 8AM (left Jack in overnight because we weren’t sure about him, glad we did though) by my Mum and Dad saying Jack is not well, now it was more alarming that my Dad was telling me as he doesn’t, in most cases, give a rats ass about animals, anyway, came downstairs to a pitiful site, his entire back had gone and you could tell he was in intense pain, and you wouldn’t be human not to have a tear in your eyes as even though he was in intense agony he was still dragging himself across the floor and trying to get on your knee for some last minute loving. Then Cleo came in (my other younger cat) and just walked up to Jack, touched noses, nodded and walked away, I was expecting a speech then, it was quite the site. Anyway, under an hour later, he was gone to be put down, his heart was weak and his entire back was gone basically, it would be cruel not to, and he was gone.
Anyway, visited my Grandma and Grandad as well during the day, they had a play with my iPad, think my Grandma wants one, I’m no even kidding, she loves the whole reading books on it and all, in fact I’ve a collection of Sherlock Holmes books on thanks to my Grandma, see it’s true, some technology does amaze Grandparents.
College and what not.
Think it’s fair to say it took me a while to get over Jack, yes it’s just a cat, but it’s not, Jack is a one and only man, and even today Cleo, my other cat, still hasn’t fully recovered from it all. Anyway, tried my best to rise above it and well, the week flown by anyway. Got Elbows album during the week, wish I could say it’s better than the first album but apart from the first track ‘The Birds’, it’s all just so so unfortunately. Anyway not much happened this week, well Tuesday was quite a confusion thanks to Shahid not doing his job right only 4 people turned up at the 9:30 time including me, advantage of us lot literally guessing that we’d be here at this time led to over an hour earlier home time which was swell.
This Weekend
Got quite a lot of homework this weekend which wasn’t nice at all if I may say do myself, didn’t fully finish Databases cause I was stuck, and kinda didn’t finish Lynns to keep up tradition, no I will do, but theres a lot to do man.
Lees House To Himself Thingy
It was Grandad Lees turn to have the house to himself yesterday and joining me and Lee obviously was Caddy, Kai and Jess and ya know what it was pretty damn awesome … OK it wasn’t that good lol, no it was a good night, it’s quite the group. We played a bit of Guitar hero which may I say so myself I was awesome on bass scoring higher than Lee who’s had the game to himself for years and its probably the what, 3rd time playing it and even through them times I’ve never played the bass, so pftyeaahhh!!! We watched the film ‘Beetlejuice’, which is random-much, which explains why Jess likes it, nah, who am I kidding we all freaking strange, anyway, after that we watched some Black Books then Jess and Kai left, so what better to do than see what’s on TV and find possibly the most randomest crappest yet pure awesome film you’ve ever seen. Now if your Chinese then is film might be awesome to you, but come on man! We ended up watching ‘I’m A Cyborg, But That’s Ok’ on Film4, what the hell basically! Favourite scenes have to be the random shooting around the hospital, the cyborg shooting through the air shouting GRANNY!!!, and the amazing noodle rice interpretation of the that famous Christmas song, how does it go now err, oh yeh;
Silent Rice, Holy Rice
Eating noodle and eating rice
It’s cold
… Now that’s a lyric man
What else needs saying eh?
Ought Else
Well I’ll have an iPad 2 review coming soon, upon request and I’ll update my WordPress site after this is posted as I’ve noticed it’s about 3 posts out of date, so err sorry about that, I’ve also added a neat iPad theme on there too so if you’re on an iPad you can enjoy some juicy HTML5ness. Oh and it was an April Fool to the fact that I had died my hair green, duh! And a little Easter egg to the incredibly beautiful lass that randomly added me, woo!
Since my last visit to you campers, well quite a bits happened so err… lets get to it then shall we!
iPhone 4
Well, in my last post I was talking about what deal to get with the iPhone 4, and well, now I kinda have one so lets get in to that shall we. The first day of October I spent on a train going to my “LOCAL” Apple Store, if you call two long trains and a bus local. I ordered a SIM Free iPhone 4 32GB online, I actually went in Google and searched for reserve and well did! When I got to the store they actually funnily enough didn’t even know how I’d done it as they stopped pre-ordering weeks ago, oh well, still got it so I’m happy of course. I also got an iPhone 4 dock, which many think is a waste of money, but I really do use them rather regularly, and seen as I’ve no intention getting a case it’ll lower the chance of possible scratches, which is swell. Yes, I haven’t had a case on the iPhone 4 and had it well over a week now and can clearly say I’ve had absolutely no issues with reception (Vodafone UK). I have to say though I’ve been more than happy with the iPhone 4, haven’t had a single headache, its a real fantastic phone, it even gets girls to sit next to ya, more on that later! The battery life is insane, I tried my best to drain it through an 8AM – 3AM day, yeah, long day, and it still had 24% juice. Everything is just great, camera, performance, design, its as I put in my review, perfect! The contrast of what I’ve been saying about that bluddy Android phone I’ve got compared to this is just amazing! Its not that I think Android is sh*t, its just that its completely sh*t now, but I do think that will change in the future, but the way the iPhone 4s going, its quite the thing to catch up to, especially when in the UK, the iPhone 4 works on every single network! So, yeah loving the iPhone 4.
Reunion with old friends, and bump in to another … you can’t write this stuff … hang on!
I don’t normally go out on Fridays, unless I’m purchasing an iPhone 4, but I was very happy to recieve a phone call from my iPhone 4 WHILST HOLDING IT WITH MY LEFT HAND IN THE DEATH GRIP (such rubbish I tell ya) from Nathan Chalmers. Hadn’t seen him in … well, since school, so nice to catch up, and nice that he kept his promise when I bumped in to him on the bus. Had a blast to be honest, after setting up my Grandma’s new HD TV (yeah I know, techy!), I was straight there. There was also Ben Yates, now Ben I haven’t seen for bluddy years, we probably would of been reunited in Year 9 if we didn’t get put in alternate sets, so haven’t seen Ben Yates really since I was in Year 4, kricky! We had a few pints of catching up, most of which I didn’t pay for which was an even bigger bonus, always happens that when you actually can afford to pay, just you wait next time when I’m skint. So yeah, made a few random videos that I uploaded to their own YouTube channel through my iPhone, don’t even ask what they were doing, bluddy hilarious though.
Now this is gonna get confusing, whilst hanging around with Ben Y, Nathan and his girlfriend, I bumped in to Ben Hunter, I KNOW … … three Bens. No I was rather shocked to see him to be honest, very quick howdy doody then buy as we kinda was with our own crowd, but yeah there ya go!
But overall I really enjoyed catching up with them lot so err swell.
Oh and sticking to a more recent note, Nathan you’re attempt on phone pranking this morning was quite frankly dreadful, it was so obviously you, made my morning just to hear the silence when I replied to your attempted disguised voice “hello Nathan”!
Grandma’s Birthday =/= Rob’s Leaving Do!
For reasons which became apparent recently Rob suddenly was leaving the Charnwood, his work for years now, and moving on to a new job, which of course meant a leaving do, which we we’re all invited to. Unfortunately this kinda was on exactly the same day we’d planned a little do for my Grandma’s birthday, which kinda just meant I was later thats all. Anyway, I have to say whilst I was excited for a rock ‘n’ roll night, with the knowledge that Kai, Caddy and Grandad Lee would be there, I was incredibly disappointed with the (cough) entertainment that followed. For starters, Kai wasn’t their, but the biggest disappointment was it wasn’t really a do, it was just a bunch of people squashed around a small bar talking about history whilst what was now Caddy, Grandad Lee and me, were just sat bord out of a tree. I think it all started to get pointless being there when Caddy left, seriously I was about 3 seconds from leaving, it was utterly boring. I’ve never really liked the Charnwood lot, apologise will not be sent if you’re reading this, I was expecting Rob’s leaving do, bit of a woah-hoo, whilst having a laugh with the lads in the corner. So yeah, safe to say I didn’t enjoy it. Although as we all agreed when Rob pointed her out (whoever she is), the randomer in blue was rather good looking, only rather though, although compared with her surroundings she was the most beautiful thing in the world.
The night, eventually ended and me and Grandad got dropped off in Cleck as we fancied some sh*tty chips, the chips you only enjoy when you’ve had a few pints, I was becoming quite a regular at the place, especially when I’d only been there the previous night ordering the same thing. Reflected on the night, then went home. So, yeah, Grandma’s low-key do = Not bad quite a laugh. Rob’s leaving do = Utter sh*t.
Just noticed I’m swearing quite alot, no I hope he enjoyed it but seriously inviting us, as in Kai, Grandad and Caddy oh and me, was rather pointless as we were left out throughout the night, and when a twat spat in my beer that just settled it.
Ought Else
Yeah actually. You know when your on a bus and you’re alone on a seat, meaning there is one seat left, which leads to people eventually if it gets busy having to sit next to you. Its always weird and awkward when someone sits next to you when there’s other places available isn’t it, and its always an old woman, ugly person or someone that absolutely reeks so bad you go noticeably pale. But hey, listen to this. Today, the bus had plenty of seats, even full rows behind me, but an absolutely beautiful lass got on the bus and sat next to me, I was like WAAATTT, it was also funny to see a chav who thought he was the best thing on the planet do the same thing. Yeah, how bout that, the magic of an Apple product. I almost wished I didn’t have to get off at the next stop, left with a smile from her and left the bus to College. Always awkward to leave a bus when a part of your bodies larger than normally when your entering College, say no more … you would though!
Anyway, on that incredible revelation, I’ll E-Ya Later, until next time!
