Could Apple be planning a whole new Mac line?

Apple has always been about the Macintosh, even if the iOS and iPod world maybe what they are more known for, I always feel that the Mac will always be Apple, but I’ve also felt Apple is shying away from the Mac. Whilst OS X Lion is good, it still feels like the “Mac” is leaving OS X, whilst some of iOS elements in Lion make it more useful and better to use, I do feel like the whole iOS meets OSX isn’t a good thing, but if anyone is gonna manage to persuade otherwise it will be Apple. Suppose we’ll all see.

One thing that I don’t quite understand is the real, sometimes major, timeframe between Mac updates. For example, the Mac Pro hasn’t had an update in an entire year, which for a Pro computer that supposed to have the best ever things a computer can, is quite rubbish really, but it seems that that maybe changing and Apple could be re-inventing the Mac product line.

Apple recently got rid of the entry level “MacBook” line, but according to Japanese site Macotakara briefly reports that Apple is planning to introduce an entirely new Mac product to its lineup. According to a rough translation provided with the original Japanese version, the product is said to be “absolutely different from current products” and potentially set for introduction by the end of the year.

According to anonymous source in Asian supplier company, Apple seems to be preparing project to release new Mac line-up which is absolutely different from current products until end of this year.

Though this source does not told in detail, this new Mac line seems to be clearly different products from current ones, so new product name could be given.

Macotakara has a mixed track record when it comes to Apple rumors. The site made news last December with its rendering of the iPad 2 case showing off a new, larger speaker that did in fact appear in the shipping version a few months later. The site also correctly reported on the iPad 2 media event and launch timeframe and introduction of Final Cut Pro X and third-party Thunderbolt devices. The site was incorrect, however, in its claim of Toggle DDR 2.0 memory for the MacBook Air.

Why Google acquiring Motorola Mobility is a Big Deal

As you know when it comes to Google Android I will never be known as a fan, in fact the experience I had with the purchase of an HTC Android device back in 2008 made me so stressed with the platform I even stopped using Google Search for a while, hated it. At the time HTC was probably the best brand of Android OEMs to choose from, some people still agree thanks to HTC Sense, personally I think Samsung have come along way with Android, look at the Galaxy S II for example. One manufacture which I’ve not been too impressed with on the Android front, but was in reality saved by the platform when the company was nearing closure is Motorola. Like with Samsungs Touchwiz interface, the Motorola “skin” as it were on top of Android known as Motoblur has come along way and is now …. bearable.

Whilst Motorola may have brought the Droid name to Android, they still have a very slim margine of sales when compared with other Android OEMs, which kind of begs the question why Google would want to acquire Motorola. Is it to help a little friend in need, or to give the company a boost, is it part of Google’s plan of future Google Phones like the Nexus One and S. Maybe, but the big answer is patents.

When it comes to mobility Motorola owns tonnes of patents that not only Google, but competitors in the mobile field, dare we say Apple, would love to be able to control and need to use in most if not all mobile devices. By acquiring Motorola Mobility (not the entire Motorola business by the way) Google has gained an insane amount of patents now owned to its name, which when competitors are “attacking” Google, they say, this is a massive step up in defence against patents battles and you know who’s consistent suing of pretty much everyone.

So, why is Google acquiring Motorola Mobility a big deal, well, the world of patents. Google’s Lawyers can relax …. for a while. I’m sure Apple will find some way of getting in.

Blog Friday 6th May 2011 – Easter Hols, Emotional Breakdown and more!

Its all been a bit much recently if I’m been honest with ya. Well, we left off before the holidays which in many ways ya know were a bit too much to take, I’ll probably get to the reasons why pretty soon, but first I need to put some new batteries in my Magic Mouse, give us a minute … there we go, took about 20 odd seconds to do, some Duracell if you’re bothered! Hang on, that has to be the first live battery changing of a Bluetooth mouse to feature in a personal blog ever!!! … Nah, its Apple someone else’ll of done it, but hey, first for me!

Back at College

This week started pretty good as missing Monday for a bank holiday meant I only had two College days which was shweet! Tuesday was pretty alright to be honest, Josh wasn’t here apparently ill, which was annoying as I specially remembered my harmonica for him, ugh well. But to be honest I’d missed alot about College and realised why I kinda go, the people. Mentioned before how I feel about the course I’m on, we won’t go there again, case there watching evilly whilst wearing ski masks!

Thursday was a very interesting day at College though, Josh was here and immediately started coming up with a cunning plan to make the tutors get mixed up between and Sam with a hat. … OK theres two Sams at College, one wears a hat alright. And the hat was the same one, so it made it more convincing right? …. …. No. But it was fun watching them trying really hard to convince. Dinner time was when things got very interesting, for some reason Aaron never came out at College, so went down with Josh, Sam, Sam with a hat and some others. Bought some randomness from Lidl, well they did anyway, then hung around and had some laughs. Headed of in to town by myself after whilst I’d time to get some nice Sausage Rolls from the Greggs, whilst in town though who’d I bump in to than Aaron and a guy they were all looking for to called Danny, I know. Anyway, had a few laughs with those guys then walked up and we all met up at Lidl car park. Then it got very strange, Josh is very err… different the way he transports himself around and it didn’t pay of this time at all. Instead of going up some metal steps he decided to take an interesting climbing route, however this led to him actually bashing his head incredibly hard on a metal pole. Didn’t know whether to laugh or go Oooo, but when I saw blood, alot of it, I sort of started being sympathetic, I already crinched whilst it happened, oo makes me shiver thinking of that bang noise. Anyway, he ended up going with Sam with a hat to A&E at hospital, so that was an interesting morning then wasn’t it!

Afternoons on Thursday are quick anyway, and after nearly 2 hours the day was over, but hey, despite some Casualties along the way, OK one, had a very fun week to be honest! Fun but painful, more can you ask for … well Josh probably might ask for not having a bad headache right now!

Easter Hols

Minus the breakdown I had (see next section to get depressed) the holiday was a bit of a dim one. Not much happened during the holiday, but here are some of the highlights.

-We started filming for our upcoming Hutton thingy that keeps changing its name, me and Grandad Lee did acting, yes Lee did acting! OK, we only filmed about 5 minutes, but its not that bad of 5 minutes, and we’ve decided that the theme tune is going to be “Chill Anthem” taken from the Debenhams single, click that title text to get the single for yourself. The filming I’m not going to go in to, obviously we want to wait until its actually reached completion which knowing us could be years or never, but we’ll see eh. As usual with when I put news of possible film productions, they sound promising, then never happen, we’ll see if this one is different won’t we. My album following the Debenhams single, that will happen, probably late 2011 – early 2012 though, working some songs I’ve been writing through the years takes a while and I want it to be good.

-Rob’s Birthday occured in the holidays as well, which if I’m been perfectly honest with ya, as soon as I found out that it did I wasn’t happy, not that it was Robs birthday, but the fact that it took place in the holidays when I was just recovering from (see next section) and I kinda wanted to relax to be honest, it was the last week of the hols on a Thursday, I just wanted to sit at home and relax, but hey, went out with low expectations of the night if I’m been honest with ya. The birthday had a similar format as my 18th, but annoyingly no one decided to torture Rob like they did me on my 18th, bastards. But yeah, alot of people turned up, few faces I didn’t know, few faces I didn’t want to know and saw Kai and Jess who I haven’t seen in a while, and a while again as I’ve not seem them since that day … I lie, I saw Kai a week back, but hey. The night was actually quite a laugh to be honest, I always have a laugh with Jess, Grandad and Caddy (for the time he was there) were actually a laugh, never really spoke to Rob much which you never really do on birthdays but ya know, not a bad night. I was one of the few that ended the night earlier than the others who went of to Bradford to the Casinos, but I didn’t feel like it, or had enough to do so, so didn’t which I don’t regret at all to be honest. But yeah good night, needed that to be honest. I also ignored Rob’s relationship advise for reasons I won’t be harsh to mention, Jess mentioned the women from next section as well, but just said I didn’t want to talk about it and the subject was changed and we had a few laughs. But yeah as I said not bad night.

-House was free at Caddys again and me, Caddy obvously, Grandad and Kai, eventually Rob had a few laughs, all I’ve got to say about that to be honest. Found out Microsoft Kinect doesn’t acknowledge my existence, typical Microsoft eh. But yeah, had a few laughs, played Debenhams single on the Jukebox, pretty good night.

Emotional Breakdown

I kinda want to rush this section to keep myself in a good mood, and the pitch of this blog in a happy sorter reading way. … yeah! Anyway, the holiday was very uneventful to be honest, nothing really happened as in going out events weren’t interesting, OK they were a few, but for a holiday the “few” part was too big sadly, but hey. I was more annoyed that not enough stuff was going on because I could have done with many distractions over the holidays as I was pretty much doing what I’m good at, being crap with women. I am what I shall define as a “Sweet Ugly Bastard” when it comes to women, I’ll explain. I’m one of those guys thats nice to women, unless their chavs can get on with them … although if their chavs I sort of don’t get on with them in the way I avoid them at all costs. Anyway, what I mean by that is I’m nice and get on with most women, but when it comes to getting involved in something like a relationship is where I fail, and whats even more annoying about that is many women have told me that I’m a good flirter (I’m not in anyway) but not someone who’d they’d want to go out with, gee thanks! Basically what they are saying is you’d be a good boyfriend, but …. its you! Thanks a chuffin lot you bitches! Anyway, seen as I’ve been sort of noticed mentioning people with names before I am going to do everything in alias terms this time. Well, the holiday started with the women I’ve become SO CLOSE to finally getting what I’ve been dreaming about and wanting for over 5 years … her in a relationship being dashed again, but more worse with someone who is a twat I’ve known for about 10 years, I know, fun right. Whats even more annoying is that he claimed that he always fancied her and stuff when they used to hang out, all I’m saying right now is, back in those days he’s on about, when the women lived near where I do (which is also near where he lives) he never paid her a percentage of attention, if anything avoided her! Anyway, suppose I will always be this failure with all this love to burst out that will have to STAY concealed. Huh. The stupid thing about it even more was that she actually continued to flirt with me to and fro, was constantly having arguments with the one she was “supposed” to be going out with, then said she loved me more, and to be honest it all just annoyed me so much I just went in to a bit of a meltdown to be honest. Suppose the advantage of adding statuses and talking via text is you can pretend to be in a good mood through sites like FaceBook, but trust me, throughout the holiday I was concealing so much hate and depression. The problem is it wasn’t just from her, it was from consistent repeats of this same situation with one lass, then another, then another, and to be honest the main reason why I haven’t had a girlfriend in so much time … well apart from set point, what I should of said is why I’ve not been trying to get a girlfriend is basically because every single relationship I’ve hads been a failure and has actually made me quite scared of women. Seriously, there the one thing I love more than anything in the world but at the same time I don’t fear anything else more, and to be frank, I can’t take anymore heartbreak. What this time proved is that all the heartbreak, depression and sadness from previous relationships is struggling to stay concealed, you could say the bubble is truly about to pop any time soon.

She eventually saw through him and they broke up a week and a bit afterwards, reasons were not mentioned, but I oddly wasn’t in anyway chuffed about it or anything, why, because I knew that she wouldn’t turn to me. I wasn’t the reason she broke up, or if I was it didn’t show. She’s now going out with someone else, although this person, despite not knowing them, I know that they’ve known each other alot longer, or atleast are a lot closer and that both sides actually love each other which is ‘oh so freaking sweet’ isn’t it! I’m sorry, I really tried to carry that sentence to the reality, but come on, takes the piss. For the millionth time of trying to go out with her, failing, falling out, getting back again, we’re back to been friends. Oh joy.

I know what you’re thinking, you’re probably thinking stuff like Ben move on, well the fact of the matter is I actually love her, if you don’t know what that means then you’ve never loved someone before. Theres a massive difference with “Liking” someone to “Loving” someone. That always seems to get very mixed up with many people. Everyone I’ve said ‘I love you’ to in that order I genuinely have done, in fact I broke up with a lass … ooo its a few year back now, but we broke up because I couldn’t tell her I loved her, we were going out all fun and happy errr… thingy, but did I love her, no. There’s about …. wow, about, I know the freaking number, there’s two people in my life I’ve, well still do love. Both of which have bothered me, or made me happy or whatever else to make it into my blogs, but I will never stop loving them. Would I say I love the latest one more, absolutely, why, because we’re close friends, see her in person quite a bit, know where she lives! Its hard dude.

Took me a very long time to pack all that pain that we’ll probably never be in a relationship in to that ever f***ing growing bubble of emotional pain, and seriously I want to thank many people who’ve helped me get my happy up, oddly that comes from the people at College, seriously though thanks guys, even though I know you don’t read this blog, but seriously helped me through it and respect you alot for that, good friends man, especially Josh, which is actually his name, only women get alias’ in this blog.

Back to the present, and near the end of the holidays I saw her in person and we had a massive hug, didn’t say much but we’ve had chats and seriously she’s too much of a valuable friend to me to let this take me over, which is probably another thing thats helped me through it, I’m always here for her no matter what, I’ll always love her more than anyone else, and she knows that now and we’ve both ya know, dealt with it in quite an adult manor … I know, don’t get much of that do you! All in all though I do love her and always will.

Other things happening!

I know what you’re thinking ya thinking Ben I haven’t seen this before, well because its new and its a simple way to go over things quickly when my hand is tired typing.

Royal Wedding: Couldn’t care less, nothing I hate more than two peoples lives going so well.

Osama Bin Laden dead: Is he really, because proof is very limited and US stories keep changing, apparently the other side have confirmed it, but still seems fishy to me! If he is then, well, good. Only Beiber and Miss Black to go now, oh the lolz.

New iMac Update: These things are awesome, you can go up to 3.4GHz Core i7 (newest versions), AMD graphics up to 2GB, Ram up to 16GB, 2 Thunderbolt ports, 2TB+256GB SSD, and more, come on! Awesome

Little Dragon: Thought I’d mention that I’ve been loving Little Dragon recently, purchased both their albums thanks to featuring on Plastic Beach by Gorillaz and some of the songs are amazing, love em!

Vangelis Gift: My Dad had a Vangelis best of album CD when I was younger which I sort of stuck under my bed and snapped, but I found it and downloaded it and remembered how much I actually loved it. And actually now I’m more grown up I love it even more. ‘So Long Ago, So Clear’, that song makes me cry sometimes, OK it did when I was depressed with love problems, but seriously an awesome song.

Well thats ya lot to be honest, if you’re in a good mood you’ve obviously skipped that massive paragraph, had to get it out there to be honest. Anyway, till next time!

Keane – My Shadow Danny Dance Remix Review

With great music comes great remixes, and Keane are definitely no exception. My Shadow is a song made as an extra for ‘Perfect Symmetry’ album for Keane as an iTunes exclusive, and released fully through the ‘Night Train’ EP.

The remix for My Shadow has been created by DannyDance
The remix starts off with a nice edgy quick beginning which fills the song througout which has a dancy repetitive effect through the lyrics “see my shadow”. The remix itself throughout is not a bad remix of My Shadow, the repetitive “see my shadow” does get old rather quickly though and the song in general does feel like its been pushed in to the 5 minute length it takes up, but putting that aside the result is a very effective remix to one of my favourite Keane tracks from ‘Night Train’. One thing that would of been nice would be a great mix on to the massive rock out at the end of My Shadow which is asking to be pumped up, neither way, great remix from a promising remixer!

- Not a bad remix, not perfect, but a great first remix of My Shadow from a very promising remixer.

Keane – Night Train EP Review

Keane – Night Train EP Review
House Lights
- House Lights is a short intro track, which features alot of influences from Black Burning Heart, in fact if you played this before Black Burning Heart, it would probably sound like the same song, not too keen on this as I don’t think it should be counted as 1 of the 8 tracks on the “8 Track EP”, alright but pointless.
Back In Time
- If Keane were to do a James Bond theme tune it would probably sound like this, epic music intro and ending with powerful vocals from lead singer Tom Chaplin. However if this was a lyric competition the song would get probably 1 out of 5, the chorus just contains the repeated lyrics “She goes back in time”, but seen as the song results in such epicness, the lyrics don’t matter, this song is obviously more of a crowd rocker song than a lyrical song, similar to the rocky feel of ‘Playing Along’. The song also features vocals from all members of the bank in the sort of middle 8 of the song, which follows in to an epic filled drive to the last chorus, with Tim’s vocals echoing the chorus after Tom which gives an amazing effect to the song which makes us so excited to see them play live.
Stop For a Minute (featuring K’naan)
- Stop For a Minute is the single for the album Night Train, and based on the track list size probably the only single from the album. Stop For a Minute features a lot of input from rapper K’naan (website link) who has his own verse, a rap sequence and joins Tom in the chorus’ after the first. The result actually is not that bad, the only problem with this single is the failure of promotion, everyone who I’ve shown this song to say they love it but haven’t heard of it, a real fail in sales from Island Records there. Unlike the radio edit, this features a more polished version of the rap sequence with two extra lines in the rap which kinda make it make sense more. The song itself is a great sing-a-long single from Keane and K’naan input definitely makes for a great track. We particularly love the final lyrics from K’naan, “the stage in the scene, where its just me and Keane”, classic!

Clear Skies
- Clear Skies is polite quiet little jingle from Keane, a first surprise is the claps, which personally I would prefer without, but I suppose live it gives the audience something to do. The song is a beautiful song with a calming acoutic guitar driven melody, yeah I know weren’t Keane the piano band a minute ago? The song also has a lovely fitting xylophone backing, which will be interesting to see who plays that live. The song, whilst a great song, does feel to be building up to something that never arrives, and the ending, sort of loud rocking sound after the mid part of the song doesn’t work for us. Apart from that this is sure to be a fan favourite from the EP.

Ishin Denshin (You’ve Got To Help Yourself) (featuring Tigarah)
– “See how the world goes round, you’ve got to help yourself, see how the world goes round, and you help someone else”. Under the knowledge that this song was going to be driven by japanese lyrics, which are sung by Tigarah, we didn’t have much hopes for this song, and, whilst it has quite a funky beat and starts with quite a funky drum beat, that’s about it for this song. If you’re japanese you can probably appreciate this song more than us, but for me its nothing more than a big disappointment and a song that, after time, you skip rather than listen to.

Your Love
- Where did this come from, a beautiful love song and sung by Tim, with no input from Tom what-so-ever! Like with Ishin Denshin, on paper this shouldn’t work, but this works brilliantly and the result is the best song on the EP and based on Perfect Symmetry, the best Keane song in a long time. The song has a calming dance beat to it and the lyrics are just beautiful, we can imagine Tim singing this to his wife after an argument, oh and the movie continues! We can’t imagine any Keane fan who doesn’t like this song, its brilliant, keep up the good work Tim, and to be perfectly honest I don’t think Tom could have sung it better.

Looking Back (featuring K’naan)
- Looking Back is the last of the two songs that feature rapper K’naan (website link), but to be honest we’re rather disappointed with K’naans input especially “how could you separate milk from lime …”, WAAT! Anyway, oddly the random outbursts that K’naan brings to this track just work together, and to be frank the song wouldn’t be itself without it. The song itself is, in our opinion better than Stop For a Minute, but we can completely understand why they chose that as the single. Like Stop For a Minute, K’naan does have his own verse towards the last chorus. But all-in-all a great song.

My Shadow
- My Shadow was on my Perfect Symmetry, what’s it doing here? Anyway, we will continue our review anyway. Like I thought before, My Shadow is a great song for playing live, which Keane have actually proved by playing the song live in multiple venues in late 2009. The song itself was only available legally! through the iTunes pre-order of Perfect Symmetry, so many don’t have it yet. With iTunes Pre-order you get a remix with Night Train which we’re not gonna review. My Shadow is a great song to rock out to and is a rarety for Keane to have a song that has a hint of piano in it, so it maybe a good thing for people who haven’t heard My Shadow to include it.

Overview

- The Night Train is a nice collection of songs to fit Keane’s classic eco-system of 2 years per record (Hopes and Fears ’04, Under The Iron Sea ’06, Perfect Symmetry ’08, and now Night Train ’10) Keane, or should I say Tim, has promised a full blown album is in the making.
The album is definitely not an album, the songs are kind of mixed up, unfortunately let down by quite a few down parts of the record, notably House Lights and Ishin Denshin, but thats mainly because I hate songs I can’t sing to. Overall the EP will definitely be a nice fix to Keane fans, however people waiting for the “old Keane” to return will be disappointed as its all new experimental stuff.

Night Train is released 10th May (UK) and 11th May (US and Worldwide)

Blog Saturday 13th March 2010 – Trip to IKEA and Thats the Last Time I Call Someone a Douchebag!

Good day y’all, well actually its not, is it me or are Saturdays potentially the most boring-est day ever! … Well, except last Saturday of course, explained all in my previous blog.
So, how are you?
Well, I’m glad you asked random computer bloggy thing asking me questions for some reason! Anyway, not much things new at the moment apart from the IKEA trip, which I’ll explain more in later. I became a fan of ‘When a guy has the balls to tell a girl he likes her’, the most annoying thing about that is, to me it should be, ‘When a guy loses his balls after telling a girl he likes her’, see my life isn’t always so happy and larry, not that I’m sure anyone thought that. Just got me thinking did that, well I’m sure y’all know I don’t talk about relationships that often in my blogs, well I do about everyone elses but to me its more interesting to type. Why, well probably because its less painful, which is why this is easy, I’m getting married!!!! … LOL. No, only joking, but you know what I mean, its about time I had something nice to post, oh god I’m going all emo on you, ooohhhh get the depressant pills!
Well, now were over that, are we, who knows. But yeh, I’ll find a shore that needs me instead.
God, what am I listening to? Anyway, I’ll pop on Gorillaz and do the next part of the blog a bit more happier mood eh, how bout that!
Actually quite a good day!
Normally I sleep all the way through Thursdays, which have been for nearly two years now my weekly day off, basically because nothing ever happens on Thursdays, no one arrives, no ones available to arrive, nothing specials going on, which is why the internet was born to fulfil mans desires with available websites. But, last Thursday I didn’t have to go to these measures of entertainment as things decided randomly to happen, how bout that. < God I’m saying that alot, one show of Bruce Forsyth and now look. Anyway, yeah. Got a phone call from Rob, which is how most days begin with, and ended up at his house to be greeted with the news that his water was down, no he wasn’t pregnant, his house water, although if Rob’s waters were breaking that would probably be a world of worryment, but anyway (p.s worryment is now a word) I was out before we could get in, then, we were in again, my house was free, obviously, and we ended up in mine for a bit. Whilst in we did, quite frankly nothing, but Rob and Ben finally got to see my iMac. Then Rob and Helen, oh yeh Helen and Ben were hear, god I’m I good at introducing blogs or what! Anyway, Rob and Helen went, somewhere, think Tesco to get some stuff, although the time that passed they were probably doing something else, best not to thing what, he heh! Meanwhile I was left with Ben which after pondering for a while wondering what to do for amusement we ended up playing on none other than Colosseum on the Cube, had a lot of excitement and fun with that. Then, my mum came home (5PM) so we left in which we saw Rob and Helen coming back from ‘just getting a few things from Tesco’ nearly two hour later, ended up pondering. We did alot of pondering y’know, its like the thing to do these days … mush. Anyway, we eventually (cough) decided to go to IKEA, which of course the choice of transport would be our feet. I took a few quid so I could get some of the best hotdogs you will ever taste if your a fan of plastic food, but hey I do live on Plastic Beach, had to add that in their. They are the most plasticey hotdogs you can get anyway, yet a taste sensation, how I don’t think anyone questions. Whilst in we saw the stuff around, such as the amusement of people stopping the front rotating doors. Oh, the laughter. Something which just makes me sick about IKEA is the cafeteria it literally smells of child sick (sorry if your eating) which is why it is such a relief the hotdogs are so far away from it, as in near the exit. We, ended up walking home, which I for what ever reason have forgotten most of what happens.
All I remember about going home is, suits, daleks and obsessive killing and some scones that weren’t for what ever reason as nice as usual! Hmm.
So yeh!
So, yeah really. Just been informed that next weekend we’ll have Milo over which should be fun having a dog around, probably be walking it sometime around the weekend, so if anyone wants to come please inform me, as walking alone as you can probably imagine can get rather dull. Oh, and just remembered, apparently we are doing some filming next week, keeping it at apparently at the moment, I want to, its just we’ve all been promised this before and I must apologise once again for peopl;e who are actually a fan of our videos waiting for stuff to begin. Oh, and a second visit to the thea-at-tour, yes the Theatre! Should be fun, well both of them really, how we’re gonna fit both in one day is why I said apparently, but we’ll all see, WE’LL ALL SEE!!! Wow, I actually shouted that!
On that note, err. E-Ya Later
Ben

Blog Sunday 13th December 2009

Its really kinda my fault I haven’t had a blog for nearly a month, so its only right I rush to it before its too late.
Since my last blog I’ve had headache with EMA, missed three weeks of EMA because they decided to, I don’t know, not pay me, but finally got it sorted out last week, so hopefully that should be it. But all in all the last few weeks have dragged, just because college is getting crapper and crapper, just starting to drag, can’t wait to leave to be honest.

A Christmas Carol
Yesterday I went to the cinemas to see A Christmas Carol, the new one with Jim Carrey, and if I’m going to be perfectly honest I thought it wasn’t that good. If you like Jim Carrey you have such high expectations, but I thought it was quite frankly, well not terrible, it definitely was the best Christmas Carol I’ve ever seen, but nothing special. So I’d give a 3/5, sorry Carrey, but you’ve done better. If you want a good Jim Carrey Christmas Movie stick to the Grinch, which is now in Blu-Ray, Wooo!

X-Factor
Like many including over 10 million who voted, I’ve just found out that the winner of the X Factor 2009 was Joe, and I’m so glad, firstly cause its a male winner, and secondly unlike Leon Jackson, he’s actually a good singer, I’ll be buying Joe’s album when it comes out, but not the winners song though. I am a firm hater of Miley Cyrus, why? Well, where do I start. She loves herself, she’s a crap singer and actress and, well I think I’ve said it all there! So, yeh, big fan of Joe, so yeh, happy about that!

Mac Mini
Next year I’ll be getting a Mac Mini, so err, yeh. Just thought I’d mention that. Hopefully Apple release iLife 2010 so it will have the edge over the aluminium MacBook I’m typing on. I’ll be getting the top spec Mac mini and of course I’ll be doing a review of it when I get it of course.

Life in General
Nothing really has happened in life really, yeh sorry to disappoint you with my disappointing life.

Upcoming to RKUK Media

Your Future Mobile has returned to RKUK Media and this time we’re allowing anyone to submit reviews about there handsets, so get your reviews in, all you need to do is to send an e-mail to rkukonline@gmail.com with the phone name, first impressions, pros and cons and your mark out of 10. Simple as, oh and leave a name otherwise we’ll simply put, review by, then your email address, so leave an alias name of your name.

2. Videos in 2010
RKUK Media are going to create more videos than ever before in 2010, so yeh look out for that. In February, The Show live will also launch with Ben.

3. Return of Marriland
RKUK removed Marriland from the top tab, well after a little message from Marriland’s Twitter, he will continue to uploading videos from Tuesday, which is good. Marriland will replace the R-Browser tab as R-Browser is now discontinued.

4. Google Adsense
Whilst this may seem like something which would only effect us, and more adverts may seem like something bad for RKUK Media, but we’re going to be adding adverts only on certain pages about the page sections, for instance, mobile phone adverts on Your Future Mobile etc. Plus, if we start to make money on RKUK Media, then we will get bigger and better.

And thats all for this blog, I’ll be returning to my old routine with the blogs, as in atleast one a week. I’ll also be focusing alot on TechnoBuffalo and more.

E-Ya Later folks

Just got a Mac, 10 things your probably should and might as well do!

1. Update your machine!
Click the Apple Logo and select ‘Software Update’ and update your machine to the latest versions off all available options.

2. Download video codec for Quicktime 7 (Leopard) or X (Snow Leopard)
i. XVid/DivX – Download from divx.com allows you to play .AVI and Matroska files
ii. Flip4Mac – Search in Google, Microsoft link. Allows WMV and WMA to play.
iii. Silverlight – Play Silverlight content on the web.
iv. RealPlayer – Play Real Media files and enjoy downloading YouTube videos.

3. Messenger:mac
Presuming you were using MSN in the Windows environment, go to Mactopia which is at microsoft.com/mac and download Messenger, unless you’ve purchased Office for Mac in which you will have it already.

4. Drag Applications to the dock and use as stacks.
Go to the Finder, click ‘Macintosh HD’, then drag the Applications folder down to the right part of the dock, then, like Documents and Download you can launch applications through stacks.

5. Shuffit Expander
If you were on Windows I bet you’ve been using WinRAR to extract all those RAR files, well on a Mac, its Shuffit Expander, in fact your sure to encounter more formats such as SIT and SITX, its all indeed exciting.

6. Transmission
OK, we’re all lying if we say we’re not using torrent sites, on Windows the best around is µTorrent, which have recently made a beta for the Mac, but the best around for the Mac is called Transmission, Google it and get torrenting.

7. Microsoft Office
If someone told you that you can’t get Microsoft Office on a Mac, they were lying, and its not Open or Neo Office either, although they are available. Yes, since 1998, Microsoft have made Office:mac, latest being Office:mac 2008 featuring Mac versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, if your not sure, I recommend checking out brief tours of Office:mac as it is nothing like the Windows way of looking, well it is, but, well, you’ll know what I mean when you start using it, oh and first thing to do when you open all Office programs, go to View > Toolbars > Formatting, that way you don’t always have to use that annoying Toolbox.

8. ClamXav
Whilst the Mac is 99.9% (feel like I’m on the Dettol advert) free of viruses, they are a miniscule amount still flocking, well, to counter these 7 or 8, you might as well download an open source client called ClamXav, its completely free and can scan and remove viruses in the rarity they arrive, seriously, put it this way, Windows virus protection deletes over 3000 viruses everyday without you seeing it, on a Mac, you’ve pretty much to ask for one. And the good thing about a Mac is you’re even more sure about pop-ups, its funny seeing pop-ups that are trying to fool people on Windows XP with the blue window bar and red cross.

9. Paintbrush
This annoys me a bit, listen up. The Mac was the first computer to come with a Paint, or MacPaint as it was called program, then Microsoft copied it with Windows 3.0, and then 10 years later it was gone. But have no fears campers, download Paintbrush, it more or less mimics Paint and is actually not all that bad. Oh, and free! Also available for Linux, if your the 1% of the world who’s bothered.

10. Enjoy!
That is it, your ready to vouch out and live life the Mac way, if your looking for new Mac software head over toapple.com/downloads or head over to macworld.co.uk for the latest all-things-Apple News.

Blog Monday 28th September 2009 – Quite a nice Monday really!

Now I am what you could call an opposite to everything, what do I mean, well, caffeine makes me wake up rather than tired, that sorta thing, and today I proved another one of those things is correct. Have you heard the term shattered glass brings bad luck, or is it just mirrors, hmm, lets not ruin the moment, anyway well after I shattered glass this morning (a pint glass) I had quite an alright Monday to be honest, which is rare!
Well I’m gonna be honest with ya, it didn’t start that woopty-du, but was on time but took longer than me walking which was just great, then I went in to the wrong room for some reason when I got to college, but then came break! I’d made sure I had enough for some awesome toastness and all, so I got some toast, and it mustn’t of been, what, five minutes and this lass just sat on my table, which was empty by the way sob sob, she actually asked if I could get internet on my phone, in which obviously you can its an iPhone (soon to be available on both O2 and Orange in the UK by the way) then she set the record straight that that wasn’t why she came, it was that she err… yeh, which is where we get to the biggest problem between me and girls! Its quite a long story but I’ll snipit it down a bit! Basically when you’ve had the bad luck I’ve had you can never tell if someones taking the piss or literally interested and with a persōner and appearance like mine ya know ya kinda go for the taking the piss option most of the time, which no doubt has lost me a few in the past. But anyway we got talking and what not and before ya know it we’re trading numbers, which was good until I forgot to put my phone on silent in the next lesson when she texted me! She’s got bright brunette hair, if thats possible, well I know it is, but err yeh! Yeh, so bright brunette and geoorrrrrgggeoouuusss!!!! (Little Britain voice) >YT LINK<
I got asked “am I going out with her?”, well to be honest I haven’t got a clue, its early days mind, got her number, she’s got mine but you know the most annoying thing ever, I didn’t ask the most simplest thing in the f**king world, out of all this I don’t even know her name! Yes, yes, yes, stop laughing, blimey ya can tell I’m an amateur at this!
Of course they’re is still the theory that it was a joke, unfortunately girls can be a**holes 69% of the time … sometimes more!
Speaking of girls a match on Tagged, added me on FaceBook and it turns out she lives in Heckmondwike, how weird, now I do know her name, which is Chloe, have you noticed how Chloe’s are always cute, well thats what I’ve found!

p.s To add to my luck I ordered Medium Fries in McDonnalds, got Large, get on, had that and my Lucozade (Jeromy Clarkson), which was all good. Then the last lesson got cancelled as all the computers stopped working so had an early finish, so in all not a bad day to be honest!

Any hoozle, Selection 74 is out anyway, plus 75 Preview, anyway Catch Yoes later!

Blog Tuesday 23rd June 2009 – The Devil's Rectum + 2 Weeks in a Paragraph

What’s been going on, it’s been more or less 2 weeks since my last blog, busy? Not really. Eventful? Well …. had the moments, some in which are just wrong!

Monday and The Devil’s Rectum
The title is not to be ignored lightly because that’s what it was, it was the waters of hell! Anyway I’ll get to that! On Monday I was rather happy as all courses in college for that day were, well, done, so I just went in really to prat around on a PC, sign EMA and leave, yeh! It felt very like a Friday, but obviously it wasn’t, for example, on a Friday I never go to Rob’s, this one I did! So, got to Robs, had a pint … well a can, and then endured James for about 2 hours and the amazement of CBBC which James for some reason was watching, I tell ya, two things I don’t know why is in this world, Microsoft and CBBC, atleast CITV attempt on acting! Anyway, after enduring through that, going out and cheating on someone else on NY Nights on the iPhone and barking with Rob’s dog, yeh, Ben rang, it turns out we’re off to Weatherspoons. Now I told Rob before we left, I was gonna go to Weatherspoons then go home, as I was hungry and well, knew what was coming next and I didn’t really want to go to Lee’s yet again, as its turning into my second home, and whats the Tesco thing all about, give me strength! Anyway, it turned out I was going to Lee’s again, like always no choice! Arrive at Lee’s with a scary welcome from a randomer, and then to the kitchen, and it was time for one of Grandad Dad’s awesome idea time (Q music)! Picture the scene, your tired, had a long day, nothing in your way, in front of you, a foot spa, you can hear the bubbles! This is where the normalness stops, why because a washed out Foot Spa was about to get the weirdest treatment yet! It was about to get … the Devil’s Rectum. Now I was the soba one who actually had a sense of life support by wanting to live, why I uploaded the most photos to FaceBook <<b>LINK> Now, Grandad, the one who lives in the brewery of the house, guess what place he came for the one to be drunk, 2 … 3, no he was the first, WOW! Next was Ben, who was quite frankly suicidal and then Rob, who … turned into Rob. A wacky weird 1/2 gay maniac!!! Rob, you chased me down the road with your nipples, say no more! Anyway, we also watched “40 year old Vigin”, which I can play a part to thanks to ITV2, and err that’s it actually! Got home, soba-ed myself up with 3 scones and some milk, this works by the way, I remember when I had no scones left, ugghhuhg!!! … is what I said! 2 hours later I woke up … what? … yeh! Anyway, this blogs going a bit out of control, maybe this is why I haven’t had a blog in so long, I’m going clinically insane! Fix yourself with a bit of insania, check out the Devil’s Rectum ingredients, make some y’self, and …. ….. good luck!

Foot Spa Devil’s Rectum Includes;

Vodka
Margaritas
Ouzo
Southern Comfort
Soda Water
PineApple Juice
Orange Juice
Fruit & Barley
Kick (Tesco)

Served with ice in a foot spa!

2 Weeks in a Paragraph
In the last two weeks in college I’ve been finishing off all my work and it looks like I may get the course merit I’ve wanted since starting the course. Sam’s continued with depression, which is actually starting to effect me out of college, which seriously has to stop. I suppose I’ve a lot of weeks to cure from it after I finish! Downloaded 3.0 software update for my iPhone, I was in the first 100K to download it in the world, it was a quick download and install, and my iPhone’s better than ever, except when I threw it onto some marble, no joke, as I said on Twitter the worst feature of the iPhone is it’s to slippery, put some rubber on it or something Apple, I’ll be getting the 2010 iPhone, whatever that has install other than iPhone Software 4.0, looking a tad far ahead now, maybe Steve Jobs will introduce this one, hmm. OK gonna stop now! So, thats err, the last two weeks in a nut shell! Even though I’m allergic. Think I’ve been to Lees most of the time … huh!

The Show Sketch Show
Another production coming up for ya, I spoke about this about 7 months ago, but no one was in on it, but now they are the YouTube channel “therkukshow” may or may not be used for it. Expect all RKUK characters in it, a rather average theme tune created by moi and some rather exciting looking new characters! Ooo, and a script!!! Hoo, hoo, ho, we’ve changed!

RKUK Offline
RKUK Online has been the peak of entertainment created by me and beyond, but recently the site hosting it have closed, so it’s no more. You probably know this if your reading on R-Network as that’s going to be where all RKUK content is now, sob!
